  • Publication number: 20050037766
Abstract: A method of assigning transmission channels in a telecommunications network and a user station are provided, which facilitate an increase in the capacity of a telecommunications network. The telecommunications network may include multiple base stations and mobile stations, the transmission channels being provided for transmitting signals between the base stations and the mobile stations. In uncoordinated operation of the base stations, at least one of the transmission channels is assigned for transmitting signals between one of the base stations and one of the mobile stations as a function of a channel measurement, in which the transmission power on all possible transmission channels is measured, if the previously measured transmission power on this transmission channel is minimal.

  • Publication number: 20050007990
Abstract: A method is provided for allocating physical transmission channels in a mobile radio cell, in which a base station, linked with a node of a mobile communication network; and a number of mobile terminals are present. In all mobile terminals and in the node of the mobile communication network the UMTS protocol architecture is implemented for at least the layer (2) and the layer (3) of the UMTS layer model. In at least one group of mobile terminals the physical transmission channel to be used for a multicast service is signaled for every mobile user terminal from the base station of the mobile radio cell. • Patent number: 6813258
Abstract: A detection method in which a CDMA-coded data signal is transmitted in the form of a data stream of spread data bursts between a transmitter and a receiver, hierarchical CDMA codes being used for the transmission. In a first step, codes having a smaller spreading factor than a maximally to be detected spreading factor are detected. In a second step, codes having a larger spreading factor than in the previous step are detected, the detection results of the first step being taken into account. In a third step, the detection process is broken off if all codes are detected, or otherwise the second step is repeated with the detection results last obtained in each instance, until all codes are detected.

  • Publication number: 20040057423
Abstract: In a third generation (UMTS) mobile radiotele-phone system, data are transmitted between a base station and a mobile station in packet form via the air interface. A connection control protocol with the task of inter alia, establishing whether and which of the data packets have been lost during the transmission, using control data, functions in both stations. These control data are added to each packet that is sent by the connection control protocol. Several packets can be transmitted within the transmission interval and the number of packets can vary from interval to interval. This allows different data transmission rates. The inventive method enables the number of packets that are sent via the air interface to be reduced, by transmitting larger, rather than more packets within a predetermined interval. This does not affect the possibility of varying the data transmission rate.

  • Publication number: 20030128677
Abstract: The present invention creates a data transfer method, specifically for use in a CDMA system in the TDD mode, a data signal being transmitted in the form of a data stream of data bursts of different users (N1-NK) between a first station (BS) and a second station (MS) via a multiplicity of antennas (A1-AN), and a reference signal being transmitted in connection with the specific data burst. In a first step, a reference signal is transmitted from the second station (MS) to the first station (BS). In a second step, a channel estimation (KS) is carried out in the first station (BS) based on the reference signal that is received from the second station (MS). In a third step, the first station (BS) transmits a data burst to the second station (MS) via the multiplicity of antennas (A1-AN), it being possible to modify the transmission signals of various antennas having various amplitude and phase factors (An, &phgr;n) in accordance with the channel estimation.

  • Publication number: 20030119488
Abstract: A method is proposed for operating a mobile radio network (1), which permits an error-free exchange of packet data units in the event of a connection change (700) between a mobile unit (10) and superordinate network units (50, 55). In this context, useful data is transmitted in the mobile radio network (1) between the mobile unit (10) and a first radio base station (25), the useful data being combined to form packet data units prior to its transmission. For the transmission of the packet data units, transmission-specific information describing an instantaneous state of the transmission is stored both in the mobile unit (10) and in a first network unit (50) superordinate to the first radio base station (25).
