  • Publication number: 20030086404
Abstract: A communications apparatus having a transmission device, such as a mobile terminal (UE), and a reception device, such as a network control device (RNC), which are linked to one another via channels in a mobile communications network, for transmitting data packets between the transmission device and the reception device which comprise a control data part and a user data part, in which the transmission device has a splitting device for splitting a data packet which is to be transmitted, before transmission, into the control data part and the user data part over various channels of a transmission device which has a channel for the control data part and a channel for the user data part, and the reception device is designed to assemble the control data part and the user data part of the data packet, and also to a method which can be carried out using said communications apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20030035423
Abstract: A method of transmitting data from a sender to a number of recipients in a system with a multilayer protocol architecture, in which the data are divided for organizational purposes into data packets having header data and payload data, a transmitting and/or receiving unit and a communication system. The transmission of data in the form of a point-to-multipoint transmission over a general channel, in particular in a mobile radio system, is carried out by adding to packet data which are being sent to multicast groups control data for the identification of a specific multicast group.

  • Publication number: 20030031322
Abstract: A method for conveying encryption information to parties in a multicast group in a mobile radio network is provided which is distinguished by the fact that a cipher key and a current encryption sequence number or parts of such a sequence number are transmitted via an air interface, via a connection already protected against interception by unauthorized persons which is allocated as dedicated to the receiver of the encryption information.

  • Publication number: 20030022683
Abstract: A method is provided for transmitting multicast messages intended simultaneously for a group of receivers in a radio system, particularly a UMTS mobile radio system, wherein, before a multicast message is transmitted, a resource assignment is transmitted and a connection to the transmitter is set up in accordance with this resource assignment message by the receivers belonging to group. It is only then that the multicast message is transmitted by the transmitter to the individual receivers belonging to group via the connections thus set up.

  • Publication number: 20030018773
Abstract: A method, an apparatus and a communication system in which the amount of data to be processed is reduced while offering a higher level of flexibility and better availability for a provider or operator of a communication system, wherein the user is allocated to at least one group of users as an access and/or usage precondition for the communication system, with the same information being transmitted to all the users in a group.

  • Publication number: 20030007517
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program for multiplexing a number of second channels, in particular logical channels, in accordance with the UMTS protocol architecture for the air interface, onto a first channel, in particular a transport channel, in accordance with the UMTS protocol architecture for the air interface, in a transmission apparatus and/or for demultiplexing in the opposite direction in a receiving apparatus, with the channels that are involved being configured by means of at least one configuration command, in particular with regard to the size of the data units to be transported by them. In the configuration, at least one size of data units is in each case supported by only a single second channel, in order to allow data units of this size to be allocated to the relevant second channel.

  • Publication number: 20030002507
Abstract: The invention creates a method for bidirectional data transmission of a data set between a data transmission device (1) and a data reception device (7) via at least one packet-oriented network device (3), in which connection-oriented switching is done, having the following steps: allocation of a data encapsulation protocol (10) to the data set to be transmitted connection-oriented in the data transmission device (1) or an external data terminal device (6) that is connected to the data transmission device (1), for an encapsulation of the data set to enable a connection-oriented data transmission of the data set; connection-oriented transmission of the encapsulated data set by means of at least one telecommunications device (4) from the data transmission device (1) to the packet-oriented network device (3); evaluation of the data encapsulation protocol (10) in the packet-oriented network device (3) for an unpacking of the data set to enable a packet-oriented data transmission of the data set; and packet-oriente

  • Publication number: 20020177445
Abstract: The invention creates a method and a corresponding apparatus for an additional call setup for data transmission between a second data receiver 2′ and a data transmitter 1 via at least one mobile telecommunications system 3, having the following steps: allocation of resources of the air interface 30 to the data transmitter 1, and construction of a certain configuration of the data transmitter 1 by means of the controller device 31 in the first call setup; storing the 10 resource occupation and configuring the data transmitter 1 of the first call setup in the memory device 10 of the data transmitter 1; and sending an identification message 7 from the controller device 31 to the data transmitter 1 in the additional call setup, to call up the resource occupation and configuration of the data transmitter 1, stored in the memory device 10, for a new allocation thereof in the additional call setup.

  • Publication number: 20020154615
Abstract: The present invention provides a detection method in which a CDMA-coded data signal is transmitted in the form of a data stream of spread data bursts between a transmitter and a receiver, hierarchical CDMA codes being used for the transmission. In a first step, codes having a smaller spreading factor than a maximally to be detected spreading factor (SF) are detected. In a second step, codes having a larger spreading factor than in the previous step are detected, the detection results of the first step being taken into account. In a third step, the detection process is broken off if all codes are detected, or otherwise the second step is repeated with the detection results last obtained in each instance, until all codes are detected.
