  • Publication number: 20120188037
Abstract: A multi-level magnetic system includes first and second magnetic structures and transitions between an attract mode and a repel mode when the first and second magnetic structures are separated by an equilibrium separation distance. The multi-level magnetic system is placed between two objects and configured to oscillate about the equilibrium separation distance in response to a vibration from a motion source. The oscillation about the equilibrium separation distance causes the multi-level magnetic system to function as a low pass filter that substantially attenuates vibrations above a cutoff frequency thereby limiting the conducting of the vibration between the two objects.

  • Publication number: 20120146752
Abstract: A shunt plate is provided that is associated with a first side of a multi-pole magnetic structure. The shunt plate provides a magnetic short between opposite polarity magnetic sources on the first side of said magnetic structure, the magnetic short causing a magnetic flux of said opposite polarity magnetic sources to be routed from said first side of the magnetic structure through said magnetic structure to the second side of said magnetic structure. The thickness of the shunt plate is selected by determining the integrated flux across a magnetic source of the magnetic structure such that the corresponding flux density in the shunt plate does not substantially exceed the flux density saturation level of a cross section of the shunt plate.

  • Patent number: 8164509
Abstract: A method for processing radio frequency reflections is provided. The method applies an RF waveform to a transmission line that is a conductor used for providing a utility service. The method uses a RF waveform generator to transmit UltraWideband (UWB) RF waveforms through the conductors of a building. The RF waveforms are emitted at emission points that can be impedance discontinuities along the transmission line or impulse radios. The emitted RF waveforms reflect off of objects in the building and are received at reception points that can be impedance discontinuities or impulse radios. These reflections are processed to determine movement of objects within or near the building. Based on the reflections of the RF waveforms, the position of the objects within or near the building can be determined.

  • Publication number: 20120091847
Abstract: An electromagnetic structure comprises a rotor assembly having at least one circular magnetic structure. The structure has opposing first and second surfaces that extend around a peripheral boundary region. A plurality of emission regions are disposed along said peripheral boundary region, with each emission region presenting poles having opposite polarities of a first polarity and a second polarity on the opposing first and second surfaces of the circular magnetic structure. Adjacent emission regions have alternating pole orientations such that each emission source having the first polarity is between two emission sources having the second polarity and each emission source having the second polarity is between two emission sources having the first polarity. A rotational element rotates the at least one circular magnetic structure about a rotation axis that is perpendicular to the opposing first and second surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20120090982
Abstract: An improved system and method for generating graphene involves producing a plurality of ionized carbon atoms in a plasma generation chamber and providing the plurality of ionized carbon atoms to a graphene generation chamber having a magnetic structure. The graphene generation chamber generates graphene from said plurality of ionized carbon atoms over said magnetic structure such that said graphene floats over said magnetic structure due to said graphene being diamagnetic. The rate at which the plurality of ionized carbon atoms is produced is controlled to control the rate of graphene generation. The magnetic field of the magnetic structure can be controlled to control the rate at which the generated graphene moves through the graphene generation chamber until it exits as a recovered graphene product.
