  • Publication number: 20130321350
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for electronic drawing using a virtual ruler. An image rendered on a display of an electronic device executing a drawing application in response to stylus input is bounded by an edge of a virtual ruler. The virtual ruler is rendered in a region of the display in response to user input, the region being bounded by an edge of the virtual ruler. In response to a received stylus gesture, a line is rendered on the display outside of the region bounded by the edge of the virtual ruler. Stylus input inside the region may be ignored or auto-corrected to the edge of the ruler. Stylus input outside of the region may be auto-corrected to the edge of the virtual ruler or used without correction.

  • Publication number: 20130302151
Abstract: A stator assembly or a stator stage is disclosed. The stator assembly includes an endless case that is coupled to or includes at least one lug for engaging an anti-rotation stator segment. The anti-rotator segment includes one curved side edge and one straight or linear side edge. The case also accommodates a plurality of middle stator segments, each having curved side edges on both sides. Finally, a third type of stator segment is a “neighbor” stator segment with one curved side edge and one linear side edge that abuttingly engages the linear side edge of the anti-rotation stator segment. The straight or linear side edges of the anti-rotation stator segments and the neighbor stator segments enable an endless case to be loaded with stator segments from an axial direction. None of the stator segments need to be installed from a radial direction.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method, system and stylus for drawing tool selection. One or more drawing tool settings, each defined by user-selectable drawing tool attributes, are formed by user interaction with a user interface. A user-activated control on a stylus signals a host electronic device to select a drawing tool setting. The settings may be selected in cyclic order. When a selected drawing tool setting includes color, the host electronic device may signal the selected color to the stylus for display using a color indicator on the stylus.

  • Patent number: 8564770
Abstract: A system detects a plant's exposure to trichloroethylene (TCE) through plant leaf imaging. White light impinging upon a plant's leaf interacts therewith to produce interacted light. A detector is positioned to detect at least one spectral band of the interacted light. A processor coupled to the detector performs comparisons between photonic energy of the interacted light at the one or more spectral bands thereof and reference data defining spectral responses indicative of leaf exposure to TCE. An output device coupled to the processor provides indications of the comparisons.
