Patent number: 10242202Abstract: A computer implemented method includes processing a deterministic factual graph to produce superfacts. The deterministic factual graph has deterministic factual graph leaf nodes individually resolving facts to discrete-valued outcomes and parent nodes of the deterministic factual graph leaf nodes resolving the discrete-valued outcomes to superfacts. Each superfact is a qualitative characterization summarizing discrete-valued outcomes. A stochastic factual graph is processed to produce a risk inference measure. The stochastic factual graph has stochastic factual graph leaf nodes incorporating the facts or superfacts. The stochastic factual graph is a Bayesian network where each stochastic factual graph node, except for a base node, is associated with a probability function, and edges between stochastic factual graph nodes represent conditional dependencies. The risk inference measure is compared to an escalation threshold.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2017Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: Respond Software, Inc.Inventors: Mark Erickson, Christopher Calvert, Nick Gilligan, Pramod G. Patent number: 10174869Abstract: Some embodiments of the present clamps include a first clamp portion having a first end defining a recess and a second end configured to be coupled to a first structure, a second clamp portion having a first end configured to be coupled to a second structure and a second end configured to be received in the recess of the first clamp portion, and a shear pin configured to secure the second clamp portion relative to the first clamp portion. Some embodiments include a retaining member disposed in the recess. In some embodiments, the recess and/or retaining member is configured to resist shearing of the shear pin if a force is applied to the second clamp portion in a first direction, but not if the force is applied in a second direction. In some embodiments, the first direction is substantially parallel with, but opposite to, the second direction.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2015Date of Patent: January 8, 2019Assignee: AMERIFORGE GROUP INC.Inventors: Mark Erickson, Jason Bludau, Jack Webb

Publication number: 20130297468Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure facilitate tracking time. In some embodiments, the method obtains first time information. The first time information can be obtained via a timer embedded in an application executing on a first device. The method may associate the first time information with a first task identifier and generate a timesheet based on the associated first time information, which may include a unique indication of the first task identifier. The method may display the generated timesheet on a display of a mobile device. The method may modify the generated timesheet to include a second time information, which may correspond to a second task identifier. The timesheet can be modified via the mobile device touch interface. The method may display the modified timesheet with a unique indication of the second task identifier. The method may submit, via the mobile device, the timesheet to a time tracker server.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2013Publication date: November 7, 2013Inventors: Mark Hirsch, Mark Erickson, Melissa Phillips

Patent number: 7941459Abstract: System and method for exporting single-instance data. A computer system includes a host configured to select a dataset having a first attribute and convey a request to a catalog to export the dataset. The first attribute is a data selection identifying a source of the dataset and a point in time at which data objects were sent from the data selection to the single-instance storage pool. The catalog identifies data objects whose attributes match the first attribute and conveys a request to a single-instance storage pool to retrieve the data objects. In response, the single-instance storage pool associates data segments with each of the data objects, re-assembles each of the data objects from its associated data segments, and conveys the re-assembled data objects to the catalog. The catalog converts the received re-assembled data objects into the dataset.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2007Date of Patent: May 10, 2011Assignee: Symantec CorporationInventor: Mark Erickson

Patent number: 7761425Abstract: A system and method for data backup. A computer system includes clients coupled to backup server and single instance store via a network. Prior to requesting an initial data backup, a new client segments and fingerprints the data to be backed up. The new client creates a sorted list of hash values and removes duplicate values in the list. In response to receiving the sorted list, a backup server may further reduce the sorted list to a unique list by removing hash values corresponding to data segments already residing on the single instance store. In response to receiving the unique list, the new client may transmit corresponding data segments to the backup server via the network. The transmitted data segments are added to a single instance store.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2007Date of Patent: July 20, 2010Assignee: Symantec CorporationInventors: Mark Erickson, Wim DeWispeleare
