  • Publication number: 20060107348
Abstract: The invention overcomes the deficiencies of the prior art by providing methods for marker assisted selection to create plants of a soybean variety that exhibit a mid/low linolenic acid content with a commercially significant yield and an agronomically elite phenotype. The invention also provides derivatives and plant parts of these plants. Further provided by the invention are methods for the use of these plants. The invention is significant in that oil with decreased linolenic acid exhibits numerous beneficial characteristics yet prior art varieties with decreased linolenic acid also exhibited decreased yield and poor agronomic quality.

  • Publication number: 20050232407
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for managing and selectively distributing routing information in a routing node are disclosed. In one implementation, a method for selectively distributing routing information in a routing node includes organizing internal signaling resources are organized so as to facilitate the efficient mapping of signaling system 7 (SS7) message transfer part (MTP) signaling protocol attributes to Internet protocol (IP)-based signaling resources. A routing status information sharing hierarchy is defined, which enables routing status information to be efficiently shared among members of a signaling mateset group. Members of a signaling mateset replicate and distribute SS7 MTP network management information across non-MTP signaling connections, such as IP connections.

  • Patent number: 6947876
Abstract: A method for automated system identification of a linear system is disclosed. A model structure is selected and one or more reference signal values are generated for input into the system. Input signal values and output signal values are retrieved from the system and system identification is performed on the model structure using the input signal values, the output signal values, and the one or more reference signal values. A point model, obtained as a result of the system identification, is then verified for accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20050203994
Abstract: Methods and systems for performing stateful signaling transactions in a distributed processing environment are disclosed. A method for performing stateful signaling transactions in a distributed processing environment includes receiving a signaling message at a routing node, such as a signal transfer point. The signaling message is distributed to one of the plurality of stateful processing modules. The receiving stateful processing module buffers the signaling message and initiates a stateful transaction based on the signaling message. Initiating the stateful transaction may include generating a query message and inserting a stateful processing module identifier in the query message. The query message is sent to an external node, such as an SCP, which formulates a response. The SCP may insert the stateful processing module in the response and send the response back to the signal transfer point.

  • Patent number: 6922596
Abstract: A system and method is given for minimizing periodic disturbances in electronic systems. Given the input-output characteristics of the system, the present method identifies and cancels the periodic disturbance. The periodic disturbance parameters are identified through the use of a residual generator. The output of the residual generator is fed into an identifier that estimates disturbance parameters. The compensation filter combines the output of the identifier with a set of pre-computed parameters to form a cancellation signal. This signal is then added to the input of the plant to cancel the periodic disturbance.

  • Publication number: 20050010842
Abstract: The present application describes a system and method for testing semiconductor devices and specifically for testing mixed signal semiconductor devices. The test systems are configured to test the semiconductor devices using overlapping test setups by configuring various test system elements. The various test system elements are programmed and prepared for subsequent tests concurrently with tests executing on the semiconductor devices. The test results are computed by various software computation modules configured to independently execute in parallel with the subsequent tests. The resultant test data of an executed test is shared among the various concurrently executing software computation modules using shared information storage. A tester user interface, executing on test system, provides an interface between user test scripts and software computation modules.

  • Patent number: 6803548
Abstract: A heat treatment apparatus for making a heat treatment while estimating temperatures of objects-to-be-processed that can estimate correct temperatures of the objects-to-be-processed. A reaction tube includes heaters and temperature sensors, and receives a wafer boat. A controller estimates temperatures of wafers and temperatures of the temperature sensors in zones in the reaction tube corresponding to the heaters by using the temperature sensors and electric powers of the heaters. Based on relationships between estimated temperatures of the temperature sensors and really metered temperatures, functions expressing the relationships between the estimated temperatures and the really metered temperatures are given for the respective zones. The functions are substituted by the estimated wafer temperatures to correct the estimated wafer temperatures.

  • Patent number: 6725099
Abstract: The present invention includes a method and system for limiting the ramp rate of a variable under control in order to control stress in a process or plant under control. The present invention takes a limit curve provided by the user and combines that limit curve with a scale factor curve obtained from a model of the system to produce an allowable limit curve. A ramp rate limiter then uses the allowable limit curve to control the ramp rate of the variable under control such that the ramp rate of the variable under control is able to achieve the maximum allowable limit but no more.

  • Patent number: 6658305
Abstract: A method is disclosed for automatic synthesis of multi-variable controllers. A design sequence for designing a controller for a system is selected, wherein the controller includes one or more controller components. A first set of parameters associated to the one or more controller components is then selected. A second set of parameters associated to the first set of parameters is subsequently selected. One or more parameters of the second set are then iteratively modified to obtain a set of modified parameters, until a plurality of performance characteristics calculated using the second set of parameters meets a performance objective for the system.
