  • Patent number: 9554207
Abstract: Offset cartridge microphones are provided that include multiple unidirectional microphone cartridges mounted in an offset geometry. Various desired polar patterns and/or desired steering angles can be formed by processing the audio signals from the multiple cartridges, including a toroidal polar pattern. The offset geometry of the cartridges may include mounting the cartridges so that they are immediately adjacent to one another and so that their center axes are offset from one another. The microphones may have a more consistent on-axis frequency response and may more uniformly form desired polar patterns and/or desired steering angles by reducing the interference and reflections within and between the cartridges.

  • Publication number: 20160224787
Abstract: Visual and non-visual elements associated with the candidate files are analyzed to determine whether the candidate files are malware. A visual element (e.g., icon) is extracted from the candidate file, and the icon's image is compared to a group of reference images associated with trusted entities. If the icon's image matches a reference image, the candidate file may be malware masquerading as trusted software. The non-visual elements associated with the candidate file are used, in combination with the visual elements, to determine whether the candidate file is malware.

  • Publication number: 20160188823
Abstract: The system of the present application includes computerized diagnostic ECG that is tailored for the EMR. The system and method of the present application provides several new approaches to the computerized ECG based on information available from the EMR through an EMR portal. Some of these information items include: Test indication and reason for performing the ECG, previous ECGs as a measure of the patient's “normal” baseline; electrolytes, and drugs known to cause cardiac toxicity/prolonged QT. Based on these inputs, the computerized ECG analysis will behave differently, including the formation of reports, the ancillary information supplied with the ECG and the interpretation itself.

  • Patent number: 8812659
Abstract: Feedback data can be received from client agents running on client computer systems. The feedback data can include data on the symptoms and conditions for rules that relate computer system symptoms to computer system conditions. The feedback data can be analyzed to produce correlation information that quantifies a degree of correlation between the symptom(s) and condition(s) related by the rule(s). It may be determined whether analysis of the feedback data warrants including one of the rules in correlation mappings to be applied to monitored computer systems. If so, then that rule can be included in the mappings. Information representing the correlation mappings may be transmitted to the monitored computer system(s). Additionally, information representing the correlation mappings may be transmitted to the monitored computer system(s), and types of feedback data collected from the client agents can be altered on the basis of the correlation information.

  • Patent number: 8725461
Abstract: Configuration data and performance data can be collected from computing machines running a target program. Periods of stress for the computing machines can be identified using the performance data, and a set of the computing machines can be grouped under a stress profile using the performance data. One or more configuration points can be identified on the set of machines, and an effect of each of the configuration point(s) on performance of the set of machines can be inferred using the configuration data and the performance data. The inferred effect(s) of the configuration point(s) can be used to determine a baseline set of configuration settings.

  • Publication number: 20110285518
Abstract: A method and system for detecting the existence of rumble strips on a roadway by a vehicle. Wheel speed data is obtained from a wheel speed sensor, and frequency-based analysis is then performed on the wheel speed data. The presence of a rumble strip can then be detected based on the outcome of the frequency-based analysis. The wheel speed data can be modified before conversion to the frequency domain to reduce wheel-induced cyclic variations in wheel speed. The frequency-based analysis can use an FFT and a peak detection method that analyzes one or more peaks in the FFT data to determine if any are indicative of the presence of a rumble strip. The method can be carried out automatically in real time and used to alert the driver of the detection of the rumble strip.

  • Patent number: 7992190
Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed that provide a centralized model to assign, monitor, and manage security on home electronic devices. A three-dimensional security matrix uses a role-based model that allows users to map security into groupings. Users can be assigned security levels based on application role (what activity is involved), user role (what each family member or guest is allowed to do), and device role (what this device is allowed to do while preserving system integrity). An authorization service determines whether a particular activity requested by the user should be granted or denied based upon whether the user has authorization to access the particular activity and whether the particular device can support the particular activity without comprising the security of the network.

  • Patent number: 7673040
Abstract: Monitoring of service provider performance is improved by providing detailed instructions for evaluating metrics relating to categories in which the service provider's performance is to be measured. Such instructions describe the metrics in sufficient detail such that they can be evaluated by a monitoring component without having to obtain monitoring data from the service provider, thereby decreasing the level of trust that must be placed in the service provider to monitor itself. The ability to evaluate metrics independent of service provider monitoring data further reduces the size of code which must be generated for the service provider and the number of tasks which must be performed by the service provider, thereby decreasing operating expenses and freeing up resources for other aspects of the service provider's operations.
