  • Publication number: 20110239874
Abstract: A drive unit that is movable between an unfired and a fired position. The drive unit comprises a handle member, a first drive gear having a first axis of rotation, and a second drive gear, engaged to the first drive gear at a mesh point, and having a second axis of rotation. The mesh point moves with respect to the axes of rotation as the handle member moves from the unfired position to the fired position. The drive unit drives an implement only when it is moved from the unfired position to the fired position.

  • Publication number: 20110163483
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a hollow parison includes forming a parison having a wall of multiple layers of polymer including a barrier layer, and open ends, each end having an end surface extending around the periphery of the respective end. A mold is formed having a first section and a second section facing the first section, the mold forming a cavity between the two mold sections when the mold is closed, and defining surfaces to which the parison conforms when the mold is closed. The mold sections are closed on the parison such that in the mold at each end of the parison a first portion of each end surface is compressed against a second portion of the respective end surface. The mold sections are further closed on the parison such the barrier layer of the first portion and second portion of the end surface at each parison end are joined and welded mutually along a seal line. Then the mold is opened and a hollow, formed tank is removed from the mold.

  • Publication number: 20110019630
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a wireless communication link includes a wireless receiver that receives a circular polarized signal from a remotely configured transmitter. The circular polarized signal has a polarization vector that rotates at a radial velocity. The wireless receiver determines a phase deviation in the radial velocity of the polarization vector and demodulates information from the circular polarized signal according to the determined phase deviation. The phase deviation is caused by a frequency deviation of the circular polarized signal generated by the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7829819
Abstract: A method for securing a component to a tank includes forming the tank having a wall of multiple layers of polymer material with an opening in the wall, outer layers of polymer, and an inner layer of polymer having an inner surface whose color is dark relative to a natural color of the outer layers. The component is formed with a mounting surface of polymer. The tube wall opening is used to install the component in the tank such that the mounting surface contacts the inner surface. Energy is transmitted onto an area of a surface of the tank wall where the mounting surface contacts the inner surface. The transmitted energy is use to produce a weld between the mounting surface and the tank wall.

  • Patent number: 7810091
Abstract: The installation of a computer program, such as a malware scanner, may be checked to determine whether or not it has not been tampered with using an installation checking computer program to gather characteristics of the installation of the target computer program after the installation checking computer program has first been validated by a separate further computer. The installation characteristics may include operating system registry entries, installed files list, file sizes and file checksums.

  • Publication number: 20100217378
Abstract: Embodiments of stents having profiles that improve gripping of the stent on a stent delivery system are provided. Additionally, embodiments of molds for fabricating the stents are provided. A radially expandable stent can comprise a proximal section tapering inward to a proximal end of the stent and a distal section tapering inward to a distal end of the stent. The tapered sections can be adapted to improve the attachment of the stent to the delivery system and to facilitate the delivery of the mounted device into and through a bodily lumen.

  • Patent number: 7743267
Abstract: A system and process enable a device to adjust the duration of various power modes based on usage of the device. The process includes operating a device at a fully operational power level, counting a first wait time, modifying a first wait time modifier in response to detection of image generating device use prior to expiration of the first wait time, and reducing power consumption from the fully operational level to a low power level in response to expiration of the first wait time.

  • Patent number: 7681771
Abstract: A stapler movable between a rest position and a stapling position and having a front end and a rear end. The stapler includes a base, a staple magazine coupled to the base and configured to hold staples, and a driver blade operable to drive staples out of the staple magazine during stapling operations. The stapler further includes an elastic member coupled to the driver blade and operable to move the driver blade during stapling operations. The elastic member utilizes potential energy to move the driver blade during stapling operations. The driver blade is positioned above the staple magazine when the stapler is in the rest position and the magazine is extendable from the front end of the stapler to allow a user to load staples in the magazine. The stapler is configured such that only the potential energy of the elastic member can operate the driver blade during stapling operations.

  • Patent number: 7617084
Abstract: Disclosed is a method, mechanism, and computer usable medium for simultaneous processing or debugging of multiple programming languages. A particularly disclosed approach provides a method and mechanism for resolving the issue of simultaneous debugging of hardware represented by an HDL, e.g., Verilog or VHDL, and software, e.g., represented by C, C++, SystemC code. This approach overcomes the problem of the HDL portion of the design being inaccessible when C, C++ or SystemC code is debugged.
