  • Patent number: 10250339
Abstract: A calibration architecture that enables accurate calibration of radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits (ICs) chips used in transceiver RF systems in a relatively simple testing environment. Embodiments of the invention include one or more on-chip switchable internal calibration paths that enable direct coupling of a portion of the on-chip circuit to an RF test system while isolating other circuitry on the chip. Some embodiments allow interconnection of switchable internal calibration paths between separate IC chips. Still other embodiments utilize internal switches and antenna mutual coupling to provide over-the-air calibration, alone or in combination with direct signal coupling via internal calibration paths. Periodic self-calibration of an RF IC can be performed after initial factory calibration, so that adjustments in desired performance parameters can be made while such an IC is embedded within a final system, and/or to take into account component degradation due to age or other factors.

  • Patent number: 8179283
Abstract: An aspect of the present invention provides a method for providing information to an air traffic controller. The method comprises the steps of: displaying, on a video display, a symbol representative of a position of an aircraft and a first stage of a multi-stage label comprising information relating to the aircraft (210); and displaying, on the video display, a second stage of the multi-stage label comprising additional information relating to the aircraft when a user-controlled cursor is brought into a vicinity of the multi-stage label (220). The first stage of the multi-stage label occupies a smaller footprint on the video display than the second stage. Additional stages of the multi stage label may also be displayed in response to user action (e.g. rotation of a scroll wheel of a computer mouse or other pointing device). Each stage of the multi-stage label may be locked in place, or pinned, through selection of part of the label, via a mouse click or similar action.

  • Patent number: 7868813
Abstract: A method (400), a system and a computer program product are disclosed for graphically displaying air traffic control information in an air traffic control system. Information about objects in an air traffic control environment is compiled and calculated (410). Tokens (e.g., text, icons, images, or other symbols) corresponding to the objects in the air traffic control environment are displayed (420). At least two objects are selectively designated (430) in combination as a source object and a target object connected by a bearing and range line token (210, 220, 230, 240). Air traffic control information (212, 222, 232, 242) about the combination of objects associated with the bearing and range line token dependent upon the combination of objects designated in the combination is displayed (440). The displayed air traffic control information is required decision making information to enable an air traffic controller to manage air traffic.

  • Publication number: 20100153875
Abstract: An air traffic control apparatus comprises a display device for graphically displaying air traffic control information and items of anticipated event information about air traffic; a memory device for storing data and instructions for operating the apparatus; and a processor coupled to the display device and the memory device. The processor causes the display device to display the items of anticipated event information, a time-line and an indication of current time on said time-line in an agenda window. The items of anticipated event information include anticipated time information. The items of anticipated event information are arranged against the time-line in accordance with the anticipated time information of the items of anticipated event information. A section of said time-line includes the current time and a specific period of time in future in relation to the current time. The items of anticipated event information corresponding to the section of the time-line are displayed in the agenda window.
