  • Publication number: 20150212235
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining an amount of hydrocarbon fluid present in a rock of a hydrocarbon-producing reservoir is provided. The rock comprises organic matter and porous and permeable inorganic matter. The method comprises the steps of receiving data relating to chemical and kinetic properties of the organic matter, rock lithology data, rock thickness and reservoir temperature and pressure data, inputting the received data into a computer-implemented model, and operating the model. The model operates to a) simulate hydrocarbon fluid generation in the rock based on the input data and thereby determine an amount of generated hydrocarbon fluid, b) generate predicted data, and c) determine a total amount of hydrocarbon fluid present in the rock based on the predicted data.

  • Patent number: 9089418
Abstract: A method for promoting contraception by placing a contraceptive device within a uterus without blocking fallopian tubes may involve advancing a distal end of a delivery device through a cervix, advancing the contraceptive device comprising an elongate shape memory member out of the distal end of the delivery device and into the uterus, and limiting inferior migration of the contraceptive device within the uterus. Inferior migration may be limited by allowing the contraceptive device to assume a shape, when subjected to pressure that tends to cause a downward migration of the device within the uterus, in which an expandable middle portion of the device is expanded to contact the inner wall of the uterus and thus limit the downward migration of the device.

  • Patent number: 9069950
Abstract: A computer device includes a download unit which downloads one or more files into a storage device. A file logging unit records a resource locator identifying a source network location of the file, when the file is downloaded, and associates the resource locator with a first fingerprint of the file. A system policy unit stores the resource locator associated with a process control policy relevant to the file. A process control unit is arranged to obtain a second fingerprint of the file upon launching a process in a runtime execution environment, retrieve the resource locator from the file logging unit by matching the second fingerprint with the first fingerprint, retrieve the process control policy from the system policy unit according to the retrieved resource locator, and selectively apply process execution privileges which determine execution of the process in the runtime execution environment according to the retrieved process control policy.
