  • Publication number: 20250002141
Abstract: An aircraft has a landing gear that can be extended and retracted and a landing gear control system that is configured so that it can cause extension/retraction of the landing gear of the aircraft in response to pilot operation of a landing gear lever. The control system is also configured such that in the scenario of pilot incapacitation, it can cause extension/retraction of the landing gear of the aircraft in response to an automated command for landing gear extension/retraction. A kit of parts including a relaying unit can be used for converting an existing aircraft to one that has this functionality. There is also a method of automatically extending/retracting landing gear, for example in the event of pilot incapacitation when performing single-pilot operation of the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20240419886
Abstract: A data corpus is partitioned into text strings for header classification. A group characteristic is computed for a text string, and whether the group characteristic satisfies a group characteristic criterion is determined. The text string may be disqualified from header classification if the group characteristic criterion is not satisfied, or one or more font characteristics may be determined for the text string if the group characteristic criterion is satisfied. A font characteristic that meets one or more prevalence criteria may be identified and evaluated to determine whether the font characteristic meets at least one font characteristic criterion. The text string may be disqualified from header classification if the font characteristic criterion is not satisfied, or if the font characteristic meets the font characteristic criterion, the text string is classified as a header, and tagged content is generated by applying a header tag to the text string.

  • Patent number: 12151827
Abstract: Sensor data is received from an inertial measurement unit on a vehicle. An observed attitude and an observed attitude rate of the vehicle are determined based on the sensor data. Using a model associated with a vehicle failure mode, an expected attitude and an expected attitude rate of the vehicle are determined. A malfunctioning rotor is determined based on the observed attitude, the observed attitude rate, the expected attitude, and the expected attitude rate. In response to identifying the malfunctioning rotor, a responsive action is performed, including by updating a geometry matrix so that at least one non-malfunctioning rotor in the plurality of rotors compensates for the malfunctioning rotor.

  • Publication number: 20240338395
Abstract: Techniques for multi-layer training of a machine learning model are disclosed. A system pre-trains a machine learning model on training data obtained from unlabeled document graph data by executing unsupervised pre-training tasks on the unlabeled document graph data to generate a labeled pre-training data set. The system modifies document graphs to change attributes of nodes in the document graphs. The system pre-trains the machine learning model with a data set including the modified document graphs and un-modified document graphs to generate prediction associated with the modifications to the document graphs. Subsequent to pre-training, the system fine-tunes the machine learning model with a set of labeled training data to generate predictions associated with a specific attribute of a document graph.

  • Patent number: 12110124
Abstract: A vertical takeoff and landing vehicle which includes an allocation block that receives a set of desired forces or desired moments and a health metric associated with at least one of: (1) a motor controller or (2) a rotor that operates in a vertical takeoff and landing mode at least some of the time. A command signal is determined per a first manner that attempts to satisfy both the set of desired forces or desired moments and the health metric. If the command signal is unable to be determined in the first manner, a second manner is used that prioritizes flight control associated with one or more of a roll axis or a pitch axis over flight control associated with a yaw axis where the axes are mutually orthogonal. The command signal is output to the motor controller that controls the rotor using the command signal.

  • Publication number: 20240319746
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide docking assist for mobile structures. A docking assist system includes a logic device, one or more sensors, one or more actuators/controllers, and modules to interface with users, sensors, actuators, and/or other modules of a mobile structure. The logic device is adapted to receive docking assist parameters from a user interface for the mobile structure and perimeter sensor data from a perimeter ranging system mounted to the mobile structure. The logic device determines docking assist control signals based, at least in part, on the docking assist parameters and perimeter sensor data, and it then provides the docking assist control signals to a navigation control system for the mobile structure. Control signals may be displayed to a user and/or used to adjust a steering actuator, a propulsion system thrust, and/or other operational systems of the mobile structure.
