  • Patent number: 7653490
Abstract: The invention provides a method for obtaining a binding compound for a protein family, wherein the members of the protein family bind a common ligand. The method includes the steps of (a) providing a sample containing a protein from the protein family, a first ligand and a second ligand under conditions wherein the first ligand, the second ligand and the protein form a bound complex; (b) detecting magnetization transfer between the first ligand and the second ligand in the bound complex, thereby determining that the two ligands are proximal in the bound complex; and (c) obtaining a candidate binding compound including the first ligand, or a fragment thereof linked to the second ligand, or a homolog thereof, whereby the population contains binding compounds that bind to members of the protein family.

  • Publication number: 20090215477
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate communication between a plurality of devices identified by mobile infospheres. The devices can be associated with a mobile infosphere based on ownership, for example, where the mobile infospheres are identified by a mobile phone number. A registry server can store information regarding devices in each mobile infosphere, and communication between the devices within a mobile infosphere or devices in other mobile infospheres can be facilitated by providing stored access parameters. In addition, data transferred among the devices can be transcoded to meet capabilities of disparate devices with respect to memory, bandwidth, available codes, etc. Moreover, a file system can aggregate shared files and folders from a plurality of mobile infosphere devices to provide seamless access to available accessible content.

  • Patent number: 7316648
Abstract: A docking station advantageously provides a location identifier to a portable processing device which processes the location identifier to determine docking station location (and other information) and to upload settings and configuration information related to an identified location which is retained until a different docking station location is encountered. In a system for use in a docking station suitable for attaching to a portable patient monitoring device for processing signal parameters acquired from a patient, a power coupler couples power to provide electrical power to a portable processing device. An adaptive communication interface, in a first mode of operation, communicates an identifier associated with a particular docking station to the portable processing device, and in a second mode of operation, establishes connection of the portable processing device to a network.

  • Patent number: 7224281
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a system to monitor a patient. In some aspects, a signal representing a value of a physiological parameter is received from a monitoring device. The received value is a value that caused the monitoring device to trigger an alarm associated with the psychological parameter. A notification is determined based on the received signal and on a second signal that represents a value of a second physiological parameter. The notification is then presented to an operator.
