    Abstract: An in situ breast tumor temperature profile measuring probe (12) includes a rod (20), thermal sensors (22) and electrical output leads (24). The thermal sensors (22) are formed in spaced apart holes (30) in an outer insulating layer (26) of the rod (20) and a common electrical input lead (28) to provide an electrical input signal to the thermal sensors (22) is disposed below and has portions (28a) exposed at the holes (30) and electrically connected to the thermal sensors (22). The thermal sensors (22) receive the electrical input signal from the common electrical input lead (28), sense the temperature of biological matter adjacent to the thermal sensors (22) and produce an electrical output signal correlated thereto. Each electrical output lead (24) mounted to the outer insulating layer (26) is in electrical contact with a different one of the thermal sensors (22) to receive the electrical output signal from the one thermal sensor (22) and output the same.

    Abstract: The present invention generally provides a fluid delivery system with particular application to electroplating. Two or more reservoirs are fluidly connected to one or more processing chambers by fluid delivery lines. A gas source is coupled to the reservoirs to selectively pressurize the reservoirs and cause fluid flow therefrom to the processing chambers through the fluid delivery lines. The fluid levels in the reservoirs and the processing chambers are controlled to facilitate avity-assisted flow of fluid from the processing chambers to the reservoirs via the fluid delivery line when the fluid levels in the processing chambers are higher than the fluid levels in the reservoirs. In operation, the reservoirs are alternately filled and emptied with a fluid circulated between the reservoirs and the processing chambers. Alternately filling and emptying the reservoirs relative to one another at constant rates maintains the fluid level and flow rate in the processing chamber substantially constant.

    Abstract: Dovetail seals are quickly and inexpensively applied to turbine buckets or rotor disks by ultrasonically welding a piece of material onto the dovetail portion of the bucket or the disk slot of the rotor disk. The method includes placing the piece of material into contact with the appropriate turbine structure and applying a compressive force so as to press the piece of material against the turbine structure. Ultrasonic energy is then applied to the piece of material so as to ultrasonically weld it to the turbine structure.

    Abstract: The present invention removes unwanted deposited material from a substrate backside by chemically dissolving the material, while substantially preventing dissolution of the material from the substrate front side. Preferably, the dissolving process is included with a spin-rinse-dry process and uses a greater flow rate of rinsing fluid directed onto the front side compared to the flow rate of dissolving fluid directed onto a substrate backside to protect the substrate front side while the unwanted backside material is removed. The present invention includes the method of dissolving the unwanted material from the backside and edge and the associated apparatus.

    Abstract: A combination of an engine block heater and electrical coupling includes the conventional cylindrical insert which slides into a sleeve on the mounting member for the block heater. An additional spring clip member is provided to hold the electrical coupling in place. The spring clip member has a collar surrounding a rib on the connector body and a pair of spring arms extending at right angles to the collar along a sleeve of the coupling to snap behind a rib on the sleeve. The spring clip arms are connected to the collar at an outer edge thereof with a pair of lobes of increased diameter between the spring clip arms for pushing of the collar longitudinally. A central opening of the collar engages over the connector body with a pair of inwardly projecting portions which slide along slots to a groove at the rib on the connector body.
