Abstract: Integrin interaction inhibitors using a beta-turn promoter are described herein. These peptides are useful in treating cancer, such as multiple myeloma, by administering a therapeutically effective amount of the integrin interaction inhibitor. Data show that integrin interaction inhibitors act synergistically or additively interact with anti-proliferative agents such as doxorubicin, SAHA, arsenic trioxide, and etoposide.

Abstract: An integrated health record system comprises a platform including a processor coupled to a medical application. The system includes at least one input device coupled to the processor. The input device receives patient information of a patient via an electronic form and receives vital signs of the patient. The medical application integrates the patient information and the vital signs into an electronic health record (EHR) that corresponds to the patient. The medical application receives a sound file that includes information resulting from an examination of the patient, and translates the sound file into a document that comprises a clinical document architecture (CDA). The medical application parses the document and identifies a plurality of data components based on a correspondence to a plurality of data fields of the HER. The medical application populates each of the plurality of data fields with each of the data components.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel substituted aryl sulfone intermediates and processes for preparing the same. An aspect of this invention relates to a process for making substituted aryl sulfone intermediates utilizing a one-pot deacylation-carbon/sulfur bond formation step. The invention also relates to a process for preparing intermediates that are used to make the compounds of formula I. Some of the advantages of the present invention include manufacturing flexibility and efficiency, high yield synthesis using a one pot deacylation and carbon-sulfur bond formation step of a thioester intermediate and the like. The process comprises a remittance component for automatically converting paper and electronic remittance and payment data into validated electronic information that is compliant with HIPAA Administrative Simplification standards; an electronic health record component for updating personal and electronic health records of a patient receiving treatment from a health professional; and a dashboard component providing reporting functions to at least one of the patient, the health professional and a payer of fees for the treatment. The remittance component creates a balanced remittance that includes reason and remarks codes as pulled from the payer's explanation of benefits. A comparison of claim to remittance to payment is conducted prior to passing on to the provider's practice management system.
