Publication number: 20200207463Abstract: Systems and methods for mechanically rotating an aircraft about its center-of-gravity (CG) are disclosed. The system can enable the rear, or main, landing gear to squat, while the nose landing gear raises to generate a positive pitch angle for the aircraft for takeoff or landing. The system can also enable the nose gear and main gear to return to a relatively level fuselage attitude for ground operations. The system can include one or more hydraulically linked hydraulic cylinders to control the overall height of the nose gear and the main gear. Because the hydraulic cylinders are linked, a change on the length of the nose cylinder generates a proportional, and opposite, change in the length of the main cylinder, and vice-versa. A method and control system for monitoring and controlling the relative positions of the nose gear and main gear is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2019Publication date: July 2, 2020Applicant: DZYNE Technologies IncorporatedInventors: Ewald Schuster, Jennifer Whitlock, Joshua B Long, Cristina Donastorg, Brendan Kennelly, Mark A. Publication number: 20200207460Abstract: Technologies for providing blended wing body aircraft control surfaces are described herein. In some examples, one or more of the control surfaces have angular configurations that reduce the formation of air vortexes when in upward or downward configurations, thereby reducing the drag on the aircraft when the control surfaces are being used.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2019Publication date: July 2, 2020Applicant: DZYNE Technologies IncorporatedInventor: Mark A. Publication number: 20200207476Abstract: Technologies for providing emergency egress routes for a blended wing body aircraft are described herein. In some examples, the emergency egress routes are through a side cabin bulkhead and aft one or more cargo holds. In some examples, the blended wing body aircraft has wings that are high geometry wings. In these examples, the emergency egress routes do not penetrate an aft spar, reducing weight and increasing the integrity of the aircraft.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 24, 2019Publication date: July 2, 2020Applicant: DZYNE Technologies IncorporatedInventors: Jennifer Whitlock, Brendan Kennelly, Mark A. The system can enable the rear, or main, landing gear to squat, while the nose landing gear raises to generate a positive angle of attack for the aircraft for takeoff or landing. Publication number: 20100183652Abstract: A method of treating chronic hepatitis B is disclosed that comprises administering a T cell-stimulating amount of a vaccine to a patient. The vaccine comprises an immunogenic amount of chimeric, carboxy-terminal truncated hepatitis B virus nucleocapsid (core) protein (HBc) that is engineered for both enhanced stability of self-assembled particles and the substantial absence of nucleic acid binding by those particles. The chimeric protein molecule can include one or more immunogenic epitopes peptide-bonded to one or more of the N-terminus, the immunogenic loop or the C-terminus of HBc. The enhanced stability of self-assembled particles is obtained by the presence of at least one heterologous cysteine residue near one or both of the amino-terminus and carboxy-terminus of the chimer molecule.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2008Publication date: July 22, 2010Inventors: Mark Page, Martin Friede, Annette Elisabeth Schmidt, Detlef Stober

Patent number: 7556219Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is provided, that is cost effective to use and manufacture and that includes a low count of component parts, allowing mission planners to use the UAVs in a disposable manner. The UAV includes an airframe having a central body and wings extending from the central body, defining an interior cavity. The airframe includes an upper and a lower shell, each configured of a unitary piece of plastic. The upper and lower shells have walls among them that define a fuel tank and a payload bay in a stacked configuration. The airframe can further include a payload cover configured to enclose the payload bay and to contribute to the central body of the airframe. A launch assembly is also provided. In a first configuration, a launch assembly is provided, that includes a container for housing multiple UAVs and a deployment mechanism that initiates rapid ejection of the UAVs from the container.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2005Date of Patent: July 7, 2009Assignee: Swift Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Mark A.
