  • Patent number: 7590917
Abstract: An interleaver parameter generator circuit used to calculate and generate on an as needed basis interleaver parameters for interleaving blocks of information of varying lengths in accordance with a pseudorandom pattern defined by the 3GPP standard. The interleaver parameter generator circuit calculates and generates the defined interleaver parameters based on an input parameter that represents the length of the block of information to be interleaved. At least one of the defined parameters is calculated and generated using a decomposed form of its definition. The interleaver parameter generator circuit uses well known circuit blocks such as multipliers, subtractors, Compare-and-Select circuits and other circuits to calculate and generate the defined parameters.

  • Publication number: 20090080849
Abstract: A blank or parking plate for managing cables, particularly fiber optic cables, having a planar base, removably securable to a chassis, and at least one resilient holder removably inserted through an aperture in the base, for securing and enclosing an end portion of a cable. The blank plate with at least one holder is arranged so as not to extend substantially within the chassis. The holder may secure a male cable connector end in substantially the same position and orientation that it will occupy when inserted into a female connector of an active circuit board, which replaces the blank plate. A distensible opening to an enclosure inside the holder may protect the cable end from dust or contact damage with foreign objects by defining an inner space behind an inlet for the cable, but no further opening serving as an outlet for the cable.

  • Publication number: 20080115123
Abstract: In assisting migration of data processing resources from a first operating environment to a second operating environment, a migration controller responds to a problem encountered during a migration process by invoking a network-based service to discover migration resources. A service provider makes migration resources available via the network-based service. The migration controller can obtain the latest migration rules and use them to resolve certain migration problems. The cooperation between the migration controller and network-based service can be automated to reduce reliance on manual updating of installed computer programs.

  • Patent number: 7268670
Abstract: A power line communications technique (PLC) is disclosed which allows communications across any three phase electric system by modulating the impedance through earth between any two points of differing voltage on the electrical system in order to use the power supply as the communications power source thereby using the power supply current as the communications carrier. No additional coupled communications source is required and modulation of an earth link current at the power frequency is especially suitable for remote electrical loads, such as an oil well electric submersible pump, where it is most cost effective to only have the three power conductors and no neutral nor signal wires in the power cable. Embodiments of the invention are described.
