    Abstract: An elastic band ligation device for the treatment of haemorrhoids, comprising an inner tube (60), a deployer (40), and a grasper (26), the grasper including at least two gripping arms (23) and slidably mounted within the inner tube (60) to open and close the gripping arms. In a closed position, retaining a haemorrhoid, the gripping arms are within the body, and the deployer is positioned to release one of a plurality of ligation bands (50). The grasper handle (31) and the deployer trigger (62) are operable by a single hand. Preferably the device is disposable and the deployer includes a ratchet so that it may only be moved forward towards the bands. In an alternative device (FIGS. 12-13), the body (20, 120) is moved to close the gripping arms.
