  • Publication number: 20200205492
Abstract: In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are presented herein useful to provide a protective medical garment, such as a gown, head covering, or gloves with a cooling property or agent. In one approach, the protective medical garment comprises a non-woven fabric that is at least partially-treated on an interior surface thereof with a phase change cooling agent. For example, a surgical gown may have a torso section and sleeves, with the phase change cooling agent deposited in areas adjacent the wearer's trunk, neck, underarms, or wrists.

  • Publication number: 20200009431
Abstract: An iron-type golf club head includes a body having a wall extending about an opening, a faceplate coupled to the body across the opening, first and second sets of apertures, and a fill material. The wall has an outer peripheral surface, a sole, a toe, a heel, a topline and a rear wall portion extending from the heel to the toe. The wall and the faceplate define a rearward-facing back cavity, and the sole, the rear wall portion and the faceplate define a lower cavity that is continuous with the back cavity. The first and second sets of apertures extend through the wall from the peripheral outer surface to, and are continuous with, the lower cavity. The first and second sets of apertures extend about first and second planes, respectively. The fill material substantially fills the lower cavity and the first and second sets of apertures.

  • Patent number: 10413469
Abstract: A patient positioner (100) includes a central portion (102) and a pair of shoulder restraints (105,106) extending distally away from a first side (107) of the central portion. Each shoulder restraint can terminate at an attachment area (108,109). Each attachment area can comprise fastener (114,115). Complementary fasteners (214,215) can be disposed on the central portion (102). The shoulder restraints can then be folded (116) about a patient's shoulders, with the fasteners attaching to the complementary fasteners. A plurality of securement straps (121,122,123,124,125,126) configured to attach the patient positioner to a procedure table (701) can extend distally from the second side (110) and the third side (111) of the central portion, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20190151040
Abstract: A drape (600) suitable for covering non-planar surfaces of equipment (1201) is provided. The drape (600) facilitates quick and efficient deployment while ensuring that a sterile field established by a drape portion (601) is not compromised. The drape (600) can include a drape wrapping layer (209) wrapped about a drape portion (601) that is formed initially with two abutting elongated accordion fold stacks (604,605). Non-sterile personnel (801) can handle the drape wrapping layer (209) to position the drape (600) along surfaces of the equipment (1201) without touching the sterile drape portion (601). Sterile personnel can then expand the abutting elongated accordion fold stacks (604,605) to drape the surfaces of the equipment (1201).

  • Publication number: 20180014898
Abstract: A stockinette (200), suitable for covering an appendage (1440) of a patient, includes one or more folds (206). The fold (206) can be in a length of material (205) disposed between an open end (204) and a closed end (203). Alternatively, the fold (880) can be in an optional cuff (860) formed by a section of material (661) near the open end (603). Folds can be present both in the length of material (205) and in the cuff (860) as well. The cuff (860) can be disposed atop the fold (206) in the length of material (205). The stockinette (200) enables one person to apply the stockinette (200) to an appendage (1440) with one continuous motion that expands the folds.

  • Publication number: 20170265957
Abstract: Disclosed are a surgical bib and kit useful in assisting a surgeon in locating and orienting the situs of a surgical incision. Generally, the surgical drape kit includes a fenestrated surgical drape and a fenestrated surgical bib sized to cover the drape fenestration and having a bib fenestration formed therein to permit surgical access therethrough. The surgical bib includes at least one surgical guide marking that may be used to position the surgical bib on the patient with reference to one or more anatomic features of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20170258543
Abstract: Disclosed is a surgical drape configured to selectively allow or block a patient's view of the surgical field, as is desired in Caesarean section operations. Generally, the drape includes a main sheet, a substantially transparent sheet attached to the main sheet proximal the patient's head, and a substantially opaque screen attached to the patient-facing side of the substantially transparent sheet. This substantially opaque screen occludes the patient's visual access through the substantially transparent sheet but may be at least partially removed to permit the patient viewing access through the substantially transparent sheet towards the area of the surgery, without compromising the sterility of the surgical field. Desirably, the drape is provided with an adhesive strip disposed on the sheet or screen to permit reconnection to thereby again occlude the patient's view through the sheet.
