  • Patent number: 10684565
Abstract: An improved overcoat layer for an organic photoconductor drum used in an electrophotographic image forming device is provided. The overcoat layer is prepared from a curable composition including a charge transport molecule containing four radical polymerizable hydrophilic functional groups containing an oxygen atom of the general structure shown below: wherein R1 and R2 contain a spacer group and a radical polymerizable hydrophilic functional group containing an oxygen atom, R3 and R4 are a non-radical polymerizable functional group, and R5 and R6 contain a spacer group and a radical polymerizable hydrophilic functional group containing an oxygen atom. The curable composition may also contain at least one optional curing agent. This overcoat layer improves wear resistance of the organic photoconductor drum without negatively altering the electrophotographic properties, thus protecting the organic photoconductor drum from damage and extending its service life.

  • Patent number: 10683083
Abstract: An integrated logistics asset guidance system uses a handheld housing that is programmed by a user to formulate a brief discrete message. The message is combined with a GPS coordinate captured by a GPS receiver within the housing with the message and coordinate are transmitted by a satcom transmitter within the housing using military secure encrypted communications protocols to a base station transceiver via a satellite. The transceiver retransmits the GPS coordinate and message via the satellite to a logistics asset so that the logistics asset can travel to the location indicated by the GPS coordinate, the logistics asset delivering supplies requested by the message sent.

  • Patent number: 10684566
Abstract: A method of preparing an organic photoconductor drum having a protective overcoat on its outermost surface is provided. In an example embodiment, a photoconductor drum having an electrically conductive substrate, a charge generation layer, a charge transport layer and an outermost protective overcoat layer is provided. The photoconductor drum is cured using a two-step process. The first curing step applies either ionizing irradiation, such as with an electron beam or by gamma rays or applies non-ionizing irradiation such as ultraviolet light to the photoconductor drum. A mask is sized and placed over the print area of the initially cured photoconductor drum, thereby exposing the outermost edges of the photoconductor drum. The outer edges of the masked photoconductor drum is then exposed to a second curing step using ultraviolet light irradiation.

  • Patent number: 10680162
Abstract: An actuator device is provided having a controllable stiffness profile, wherein an actuator member (12) comprises an electroactive polymer material (16) having light absorbing filler elements (20) embedded therein. The filler elements are adapted to absorb and convert incident light (26) to heat energy to therefore heat surrounding sections of the electroactive material. By selectively controlling an intensity level or spectral composition of a light source (24) directed at the actuator member, a specific degree and spread of heating can be achieved across the member and, as a result, a specific desired stiffness or flexibility profile can be realised across the actuator member.

  • Patent number: 10657457
Abstract: In general, embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods and computer readable media for an adaptive oracle-trained learning framework for automatically building and maintaining models that are developed using machine learning algorithms. In embodiments, the framework leverages at least one oracle (e.g., a crowd) for automatic generation of high-quality training data to use in deriving a model. Once a model is trained, the framework monitors the performance of the model and, in embodiments, leverages active learning and the oracle to generate feedback about the changing data for modifying training data sets while maintaining data quality to enable incremental adaptation of the model.

  • Patent number: 10620555
Abstract: A method of curing a protective overcoat layer on the outermost portion of an organic photoconductor drum using dual curing process is provided. The first curing step applies either ionizing irradiation, such as with an electron beam or by gamma rays or applies non-ionizing irradiation such as ultraviolet light to the overcoated photoconductor drum. A mask or shield is sized to be placed over the print area of the initially cured photoconductor drum, thereby exposing the outermost edges of the photoconductor drum. The outer edges of the masked photoconductor drum is then exposed to a second curing step using non-ionizing irradiation such as ultraviolet light.

  • Patent number: 10616564
Abstract: A display device has a display panel (70) and a color filter layer (72) spaced from the display panel, comprising an array of color filter portions. In a privacy mode (narrow viewing angle mode), the display panel produces output regions of different light output color, which regions are aligned with corresponding color portions of the color filter layer. In a public mode (wide viewing angle mode) the display panel produces light containing all of the output colors to all of the output regions. By providing a color filter layer spaced from the display panel, color filtering is used to control the range of angles over which an image is output. The color filter layer is in essence moved away from the display panel. The spacing between the two and the width of the color filter portions determines the extent by which the light output is angularly limited.

  • Patent number: 10607328
Abstract: A system, according to various embodiments, receives images such as photographs and videos from one or more portable computing devices associated with one or more individuals (e.g., construction workers or landscapers) while the portable computing devices are in a particular position within a particular location at a particular time. The system determines a virtual position within a 3-D representation of the particular location that generally corresponds to the particular position and combines the images with the 3-D representation to generate an enhanced 3-D representation of the particular location. This may allow, for example, owners of a particular property to track and quickly understand construction and landscaping work that has been done on their property and to easily contact those individuals regarding that work.
