Abstract: A fiber optic installation device is disclosed for easily and efficiently installing fiber into an existing conduit in order to provide telecommunication and other services. The installation device includes a housing having first and second entry points. A first tube is releasably coupled to the first entry point, and configured for receiving a fiber cable, and a second tube is releasably coupled to the second entry point, and configured for receiving and securing an existing conduit so that the fiber optic cable can be pushed through and installed into the conduit. The cable is driven through the device via a drive wheel that is coupled to a drive shaft being driven by a standard electric drill. To prevent slippage of the cable, a pincher wheel is adjusted up or down via a knob to ensure the fiber optic cable remains in contact with the drive wheel throughout the installation process.

  • Patent number: 11947739
Abstract: Method, apparatus, and systems for roll angle estimation for an input/gesture device (IGD) are disclosed. The method includes estimating a first axis vector of the input/gesture device (IGD) relative to the surface of the mobile device (MD), as a first frame of reference, using readings from a first type of sensor; and estimating the first axis vector of the IDG relative to a different, second frame of reference using a gyroscope integration of readings from the 3-axis gyroscope. The method further includes aligning the first axis vector of the IDG in the first frame of reference with the first axis vector of the IDG in the second frame of reference; minimizing a change in the alignment of the first axis vectors between the first frame of reference and the second frame of reference; and determining the roll angle of the IDG relative to the surface of the MD.

  • Patent number: 11817129
Abstract: An apparatus for processing media content includes at least one hardware processor coupled to at least one memory. The at least one memory stores instructions that when executed cause the at least one hardware processor to perform operations. The operations include generating three-dimensional (3D) representations of media elements present in one or more two-dimensional (2D) images representing a 2D scene with the media content. A 3D volume representation of the 2D scene is generated based on aggregating the 3D representations. A 3D void space associated with the 2D scene is segmented into a plurality of 3D void segments. The segmenting is based on the 3D volume representation. A 3D media element is inserted into at least one 3D void segment of the plurality of 3D void segments. The one or more 2D images are modified to include the at least one 3D void segment with the 3D media element.

  • Publication number: 20230342495
Abstract: A system architecture and methods to enable a user (data provider) to selectively release some or all personal data to third parties (data consumers) who may then benefit from direct, precise, and permissioned audience data. The solution disclosed herein provides an open and transparent exchange (using a blockchain or other distributed ledger technology) whereby third parties can request permission to a user’s data and know they have received and continue to receive the user’s explicit permission (managed in a smart contract) to use the data. Users are provided a web portal or app interface where they can manage all of their issued permissions with all third parties across their devices and touch points with third parties. Users can update their data (e.g., address, email, or zip code) and know that permissioned third parties will always be updated.

  • Publication number: 20230177198
Abstract: Distributed Permissioned Data (DPD) network to securely store encrypted data by distributing multiple copies of data fragments in resilient nodes in the network. Data fragments are stored in multiple node chains in the network. Storing data in this distributed fashion offsets conditions where some nodes are not available because they are offline or unreachable. Nodes may also have other constraints placed on them, such as bandwidth utilization, storage limits, and CPU allocation. Multiple versions (replicas) of the data fragments are stored in multiple nodes to provide resiliency. By properly selecting a number of data fragments and a number of replicas, data stored in the network will be highly available.

  • Publication number: 20230125244
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for vapour decontamination of an enclosed space. The apparatus comprises: (a) a reservoir comprising a supply of a liquid decontaminant; and (b) a vaporiser unit in fluid communication with the reservoir. The vaporiser unit comprises: a body that defines a lumen that passes along the length of the body, the lumen comprising a first end and a second end, wherein the first end receives liquid decontaminant from the reservoir; and a heating element that is configured to deliver sufficient thermal energy to effect rapid boiling of the liquid decontaminant within the lumen so that it exits the lumen via an exit port at the second end of the lumen as a vapour. The exit port is configured to deliver the vapour into a flow of a non-heated carrier gas, thereby facilitating distribution of the decontaminant vapour within the enclosed space. The invention also relates to a method for decontaminating surfaces within an enclosed space.
