  • Publication number: 20160328990
Abstract: Provided are systems and methods using which users may learn and become familiar with the effects of various aspects of their lifestyle on their health, e.g., users may learn about how food and/or exercise affects their glucose level and other physiological parameters, as well as overall health. In some cases the user selects a program to try; in other cases, a computing environment embodying the system suggests programs to try, including on the basis of pattern recognition, i.e., by the computing environment determining how a user could improve a detected pattern in some way. In this way, users such as type II diabetics or even users who are only prediabetic or non-diabetic may learn healthy habits to benefit their health.

  • Publication number: 20160227898
Abstract: A hair straightener includes a power cord, a control circuit board, an upper shell, a bottom shell, an electric hot plate and a heat-conductive brush head. The upper shell and the bottom shell are fastened together with a first accommodation chamber defined therein. The bottom shell defines an opening. The control circuit board, the electric hot plate and the heat-conductive brush head are accommodated in the first accommodation chamber. The heat-conductive brush head has a heat-transfer plate attached to the back side thereof. The electric hot plate is mounted on the heat-transfer plate. The heat-conductive brush head has a plurality of heat-transfer brush teeth located on the front side thereof.

  • Publication number: 20150366494
Abstract: Devices are presented for measurement of an analyte concentration. The devices comprise: a sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of a concentration of an analyte; and a sensing membrane located over the sensor. The sensing membrane comprises an enzyme domain comprising an enzyme, a base polymer, and a hydrophilic polymer which makes up from about 5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of the enzyme domain.

  • Patent number: 7149692
Abstract: An audio device comprising a single chip memory controller and digital signal processor is provided for playing audio files from or recording voice to a computer or electronic device which is in a power saving state. The audio device may be internal to the computer/electronic device or it may be external and attached to the computer/electronic device. The audio device may handle multiple audio file formats and is programmable so that additional formats may be added. In one embodiment, when the computer/electronic device is placed in a power saving state, the audio device takes over the computer/electronic device's function of handling user requests to play audio files or to record audio to the computer/electronic device. In one embodiment the audio files may be played from or written to a hard-drive on the computer/electronic device. In alternate embodiments a CD-RW may be used instead of a hard drive.

  • Publication number: 20060264325
Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel process for the fabrication of a class of conductive supported electrocatalysts based on transition metals. The electrocatalysts are formed by pyrolysis of an organometallic polymer complex precursor which is the reaction product of transition metal salts and a templating polymer. The electrocatalysts has enhanced catalytic activity, and are useful in the preparation of supercapacitor and fuel cell electrodes, auto-thermal fuel reformer catalysts, oxygen and hydrogen sensors, zinc-air battery electrode and oxidation catalysts.
