  • Publication number: 20130036809
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for predetermining a motion state (BZn+1) of a drive shaft (222) of an internal combustion engine (210) on the basis of previous motion states (BZn, BZn?2) of the drive shaft (222), wherein properties (tn?2, ?n?2) allocated to a first previous motion state (BZn?2) and properties (tn, ?n) allocated to a second previous motion state (BZn) are used and the drive shaft (222) assumes periodically recurring angular positions (?n?2, ?n, ?n+2; ?n?1, ?n+1). The invention is characterized in that a future motion state (BZn+1) and the properties (tn?1, ?n+1) allocated thereto of the drive shaft (222) are determined in an angular position on the basis of the first evaluated previous motion state (BZn?2) and the second evaluated previous motion state (BZn), wherein the angular position (?n+1) of the determined future motion state (BZn+1)of the drive shaft (222) is not equal to an angular position (?n?2, ?n) of the first and second previous motion state (BZn, BZn?2).

  • Publication number: 20130041572
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for actuating a starter device (10), wherein the starter device (10) comprises a starting pinion (22) which is to be meshed with a toothed ring (25) of an internal combustion engine (210), the internal combustion engine (210) having a drive shaft (222). The invention is characterized in that a) first a rotational speed (n, n1, n2, n3) of the drive shaft (222) is determined, b) said rotational speed (n, n1, n2, n3) is then compared to a predefined rotational speed value (nG), and c) in the case that the rotational speed (n, n1, n2, n3) is less than or equal to the predefined rotational speed value (nG), the starting pinion (22) is toed in the direction of the toothed ring (25).

  • Publication number: 20130026767
Abstract: The invention relates to a starter (100), to a device for starting a starter motor, to a device for detecting an engaged state of a starter pinion, to a method for starting a starter motor, to a method for detecting an engaged state of a pinion (101) in a corresponding gearwheel, to a computer program and to a computer program product, wherein the method for detecting an engaged state of a pinion (101) in a corresponding gearwheel, in particular an engaged state of a starter pinion in a gear rim of a starter (100), comprises applying a current to a starter relay (110) for switching the pinion (101) and detecting at least one current flow parameter of the current flow, wherein the detected current flow parameter is set in relation to potential pinion positions and a pinion position associated with the detected current flow parameter is selected and is thus detected.

  • Publication number: 20120191329
Abstract: A method is described for operating a controller for a starting apparatus for starting an internal combustion engine in a vehicle, the controller controlling an engagement apparatus, which encompasses the starting apparatus, so as to engage a starter pinion into the ring gear of an internal combustion engine, in particular using a start-stop operating strategy. In order to improve vehicle convenience by the fact that start-stop operation can be implemented with quick and reliable availability of the internal combustion engine, at least one operating parameter of the engagement apparatus is sensed and evaluated by the controller, and the controller adapts the control of the engagement apparatus to the at least one operating parameter.

  • Publication number: 20110246050
Abstract: In a method for controlling a start/stop operation of an internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle, the controller activates a starting device which has a starter motor and a meshing device for the purpose of starting the internal combustion engine and of executing a start/stop operation, the rotational speed and position of a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine being detected with the aid of a detector device. To provide vehicle comfort in start/stop mode and to implement meshing of a starter pinion with the ring gear at a coasting rotational speed at reduced noise and wear, a point in time is determined for meshing with the ring gear of a coasting internal combustion engine after the internal combustion engine has been shut down.
