  • Patent number: 7632472
Abstract: A catalytic reactor for generating a hydrogen-containing synthesis gas from a rich fuel/oxidizing agent mix. The reactor (1) includes a multiplicity of parallel passages which extend from an inlet side (6) to an outlet side (7). To achieve a compact overall form of the reactor (1), at least in a core region of a cross section through the reactor (1) all the passages are of a catalytically active nature. In a first longitudinal part (8) of the reactor (1), which includes the inlet side (6), the catalytically active first passages have a larger proportion of the surface area provided with a catalytically active coating than the catalytically active second passages in a second longitudinal part (9) of the reactor (1), which includes the outlet side (7) and adjoins the first longitudinal part (8).

  • Publication number: 20090273232
Abstract: A system and method for braking a drawbar trailer having a front axle and one or more further axles, each axle having at least two wheels, includes first sensors which sense the axle load of at least one axle, and second sensors which sense the rotational wheel speeds. Brakes actuatable with a pneumatic brake pressure brake the trailer. Brake signals generated in the towing vehicle are transmitted between the towing vehicle and the trailer. A control unit receives these brake signals and the sensor signals, and determines the axle load. The operating pressure is adapted to the brake pressure which is fed to the brakes. The control unit detects the brake pressure value as a function of (i) the specific axle loads of the front axle and the other axles and (ii) the received brake signals, and actuates the brakes such that the detected brake pressure is made available.

  • Publication number: 20090013889
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for changing printing plates in sheet-fed rotary printing presses include a plurality of printing units and plate cylinders being coupled to one another mechanically in the printing units during a printing operation. At the beginning of a plate change, the plate cylinders are coupled to one another mechanically and are driven jointly by a main drive motor. After an old printing plate has been conveyed out, each plate cylinder is decoupled from the common mechanical connection and is driven by a separate drive motor.

  • Publication number: 20070202047
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyamine-substituted ligand for the preparation of a contrast agent derived from a chelating molecule selected from the group consisting of 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid (DOTA) and diethylentriamine-pentaacetic acid (DTPA), wherein at least one of the carboxylic groups of the chelating molecule is reacted with an amine of formula HNR1R2 to form an amide bond, wherein R1, R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of H; (CH2)n—NR3R4; and R5; R3, R4 are independently selected from the group consisting of H; (CH2)m—NR6R7; and (CH2)m-1—CH3; R6, R7 are independently selected from the group consisting of H; and (CH2)o-1—CH3; n, m, o are independently 2, 3, or 4; R5 is of formula and optionally at least one of the carboxylic groups of the chelating molecule is further reacted with a monoalkylamine having 1 to 18 carbon atoms to form an amide bond; provided that at least one of R1, R2 is other than H.

  • Publication number: 20070023440
Abstract: Disclosed is a gas seal for sealing the upper opening of a large-volume container, the container exhibiting a wall encircling the opening. The gas seal comprises a gas holder foil 1 resting in its peripheral area in the area of the wall, at least four pinch plates 6 mounted circumferentially on the upper edge of the wall, and a sealing cord 4. The peripheral area of the gas holder foil 1 is overturned and the sealing cord 4 inserted circumferentially in the overturned gas holder foil 1. The pinch plates 6 squeeze the gas holder foil 1, in its overturned area, to the upper edge of the wall.

  • Patent number: 6282765
Abstract: A drawing-in machine includes a harness element provided with an eyelet; an arrangement for displacing the harness element in a direction parallel to the length dimension of the harness element; and a device for aligning the eyelet with a desired drawing-in position. The device includes a sensor detecting an actual position of the eyelet; and an arrangement for displacing the harness element from the detected actual position into the desired drawing-in position.

  • Patent number: 6176266
Abstract: A housing block for receiving valves, for example piston pumps and storage chambers for use in hydraulic vehicle brake systems. The invention uses a wobble tool to deform material of the housing block at a beginning of a hole essentially in the longitudinal direction of the hole, so that with the insertion of the wobble tool into the housing block in the vicinity of the beginning of the hole, first opening narrowed in relation to the diameter of the hole is produced. The hole becomes narrower with further continuation of the wobbling process and finally disappears. Then the material, which has produced the increased narrowing of the opening and finally its disappearance, forms a closure. The production of plug bodies in accordance with the prior art and the production of assembly devices are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6018976
Abstract: The process is characterized by means of successively executed displacements of material of a work piece into the inner bore diameter at different points of the mouth of a bore. The displacement of the material is executed by means of a die that can be moved at least approximately in the direction of the bore axis. The process for tightly closing a bore can preferably be used with work pieces comprised of ductile material, in particular an aluminum wrought alloy.

  • Patent number: 5448812
Abstract: The healds are distributed to carrier rails in a transfer station by heald holders forming part of a distribution station. A lock having two spaced controlled clamps a transfer member and a slide are provided for each carrier rail. The transfer member transports the healds from the heald holder through the first clamp adjacent to the latter into the space between the clamps where intermediate storage of the healds takes place. The transport of the healds through the second clamp takes place by means of the slide. Use for the working off of healds having closed end loops.
