  • Patent number: 7766806
Abstract: A rotating member of a printing press is typically a cylinder that is provided with a circumferential area. A securement channel or a flow channel, which is at least partly open toward the circumferential area of the cylinder, is formed in the cylinder. A profiled member, which at least partly covers the securement channel or flow channel, with respect to its circumferential area, is inserted into the cylinder to form an integrated joint with the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 7533633
Abstract: The invention relates to the establishing of a connection between steam generator heating surfaces made of austenitic materials and a collector and/or distributor made of martensitic or ferritic materials or of a nickel-base alloy. In order to extend the expectation of serviceable life of the connection, the pipe nipple of the reservoir used as a collector or distributor is made of a nickel-base alloy and directly welded to the collector wall in such a manner that an axial gap remains between the connecting branch and the collector wall. In a connection of the aforementioned type between steam generator heating surfaces made of austenitic materials and the pipe nipple or the pipe nipple and the collector made of martensitic materials, the coefficient of expansion of the material of the pipe nipple has a particularly good effect upon the serviceable life of the entire connection.

  • Publication number: 20080149047
Abstract: A steam boiler module or steam boiler assembly or a power station component is composed essentially of an alloyed, in particular chromium-containing material and consists, at least in part of a material which has been treated by surface blasting (shot-peening/shot blasting). With steam boilers having outlet temperatures of ?700° C. in power station components, in particular steam generator modules, the material provides an adequate strength, in particular long-term rupture strength and an adequate corrosion resistance as well as oxidation resistance. The material has a ferritic or martensitic or austenitic structure having a mean chromium content ?18% by weight, and at least a module surface or module group surface or component surface that has been treated, at least in part, by surface blasting (shot-peening/shot blasting).

  • Publication number: 20040033022
Abstract: A laser module can be used with optical transmission systems and a method stabilizes an output wavelength of the laser module. Devices are provided for stabilizing an output wavelength of the laser module; the devices have a measurement apparatus for measuring the photon density within the resonator, an adjustment apparatus for adjusting the effective optical path length of the resonator, and a control apparatus that, based on a comparison between different values of the photon density at the different effective optical path lengths of the resonator, produces control commands to the adjustment apparatus to adjust the effective optical path length of the resonator to equal the emitted output wavelength to a desired wavelength. The wavelength of a semiconductor laser can be set precisely to a desired wavelength irrespective of the age and ambient temperature.

  • Patent number: 6647038
Abstract: An optoelectronic laser module, in particular for dense wavelength division multiplex systems, is described. The laser module has a laser diode with an active region, an optical resonator containing a highly silvered reflecting surface and a Bragg interference grating which provides frequency-selective feedback, and a housing which accommodates the laser diode and has a holder for coupling an optical conductor. The Bragg interference grating is configured as a fiber Bragg grating in an optical conductor and the optical conductor is connected to the housing via the holder. As a result, it is possible with the use of standard components to provide a laser having an external resonator whose emission wavelength can be set in a simple way by suitable selection of the fiber Bragg grating.
