Publication number: 20130220325Abstract: This invention relates to a treatment device (10) and method of use, and in particular to a treatment device adapted to assist the clearance of bronchial secretions in persons whose cough function is impaired. The invention provides a treatment device having a pump (12) with a negative pressure inlet side (22) and a positive pressure outlet side (24). The device has a breathing tube (14) for connection to a patient, and a pressure sensor (18) adapted to determine the pressure within the breathing tube. A valve (16) selectively connects the breathing tube to the inlet side or the outlet side of the pump whereby to provide cycles of positive and negative pressure within the breathing tube. A controller (26) is provided to control the valve. An indicator (20) alerts the patient to an operational status of the device so that the patient can breathe in time with the device and in particular can seek to cough at the same time as the pressure within the breathing tube is rapidly reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2011Publication date: August 29, 2013Inventors: Noel Martin Davis, Peter John Bachelor

Publication number: 20130212016Abstract: Providing for a mobile communication device (MCD) credit account and credit transactions by way of such an MCD is described herein. As an example, a credit account sponsored by a financial or commercial entity can be associated with a unique ID of an MCD. The MCD can interface with another electronic device and initiate credit transactions, such as commercial purchases, credit transfers, currency conversions, and the like, via the interface. Further, rules provided by the sponsoring entity can guide such transactions, enforcing credit limits, for instance. A management component can then synchronize transactions conducted by the device with a server of a financial institution over a remote communication interface, such as the Internet or a cellular/mobile communication network. Accordingly, a mobile device can replace a traditional credit card in transacting credit business.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2013Publication date: August 15, 2013Applicant: WELLS FARGO, N.A.Inventors: Martin Davis, Michael Thomas Duke

Patent number: 8166923Abstract: An approach to monitoring, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment or conditioning of animals such as horses does not require use of restrictive equipment such as treadmills or force plates and that can provide either or both of more or less immediate or continuous processing of data to perform the monitoring or diagnosis. One or more wireless sensors are attached to the animal, for example, to measure motion-related parameter associated with one or more parts of the animal. Sensor data is received from the sensors and processed to identify a characteristic of the motion of the animal, such as a quality of gait. The sensor data can also be used to avoid injury to the animal and/or the rider, and to verify the identity of an animal.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2010Date of Patent: May 1, 2012Assignee: Equusys, IncorporatedInventor: Michael Allan Martin Davies

Publication number: 20120059235Abstract: An approach to instrumentation and telemetry of physiological and physical parameters of an animal and its environment has particular application to horses. This approach improves the effectiveness of one or more of evaluation, diagnosis, care conditioning or monitoring of animals because it does not require use of restrictive equipment such as force plates or treadmills, and it can provide objective and quantitative data that is complete, accurate, precise and reproducible, and this data can be obtained under real-world conditions, for either or both of more or less real-time or continuous processing of data to perform the monitoring or diagnosis. That is, in such an approach objective and quantitative data can be collected under real-world conditions and this data can be processed and the information can be displayed in a form that is familiar to experts in real-time locally, or can be stored for subsequent retrieval or transmitted for remote review.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 24, 2010Publication date: March 8, 2012Applicant: Equusys, IncorporatedInventor: Michael Allan Martin Davies
