  • Patent number: 9414415
Abstract: A call setup system and method configured to setup a wireless media session extending from a first network to a second network are provided. The system in one example embodiment includes media gateways (MG-Bs) of a first network interface of an interconnect network and a soft switch B (SSW-B) within the first network. The SSW-B receives a media session initiation from a wireless communication device B (WCD-B) of the first network, wherein the WCD-B is attempting to initiate a media session to a wireless communication device A (WCD-A) of the second network, obtains a MG-Bx network address of a selected MG-Bx of the one or more MG-Bs, forwards a call initiation information to a SSW-A of the second network, and receives a media gateway MG-Ax network address from the SSW-A, wherein the WCD-B of first network is placed in communication with the WCD-A of the second network via the selected MG-Bx and the selected MG-Ax.

  • Patent number: 9413889
Abstract: A technique and apparatus to allow a determination of an MSAG-valid address by use of normalized house numbers included in address entries in an MSAG Address data store, to facilitate the simple match of an input civic/postal address against entries in a MSAG data store based on the use of a normalization of the house numbers. The house number normalization allows for an easy lexicographical determination as to whether or not the input civic/postal house number falls with the range of house numbers in the MSAG data store. The inventive process and apparatus pre-stores normalized house number fields in an MSAG address data store, and then normalizes house numbers in a civic/postal address associated with an emergency call. The normalized numbers in the input civic/postal address associated with the emergency call are then lexicographically matched with normalized entries in an MSAG address data store.

  • Patent number: 9409301
Abstract: A cap for a shaving head of a shaving apparatus has a skin contacting surface including at least two annular corrugations. The shape of the skin contacting surface of the cap is adapted to realizing a high feeling of comfort for a user of the shaving apparatus. A factor contributing to the feeling of comfort is that an annular central surface of an outermost corrugation has an orientation that is out of line with an expected course of an imaginary smooth flowing plane following a central surface of an adjacent corrugation, where a drooping configuration of the central surface of the outermost corrugation with respect to the central surface of the adjacent corrugation is realized.

  • Patent number: 9408557
Abstract: A system and method for adjusting a contact point of a joint is disclosed. The system comprises a prosthetic component having sensors therein and a remote system to receive and display sensor data. A plurality of sensors of the prosthetic component provide data related to load magnitude and position of load applied to a surface of the prosthetic component. The prosthetic component further includes one or sensors that provide position, rotation, and tilt data. Adjustment of the contact point of the prosthetic component can be performed by repositioning the prosthetic component relative to a bone to which it is coupled. For example, a prosthetic component can be pinned to the bone allowing rotation of the prosthetic component relative to the bone in-situ. A remote system receives sensor data from the prosthetic component allowing viewing of the load magnitude, position of load, and rotation of the prosthetic component.

  • Patent number: 9408672
Abstract: A system for facilitating access through a substantially planar and laterally oriented patient skin surface includes a guiding substrate extending substantially parallel to the skin surface and selectively directly fastened thereto. The guiding substrate supports a guiding structure in a substantially fixed relationship to an access site of the skin surface. A tool carriage is configured to accept surgical tools for sequential interaction with the access site. The tool carriage engages the guiding structure such that the tool carriage is guided along a predetermined action path when motive force is provided to the tool carriage. The tool carriage is guided along the action path with an incising tool in penetrating contact with the access site of the skin surface to create a laterally elongate incision at the access site. The tool carriage is guided along the action path to substantially close the incision at the access site.

  • Patent number: 9409083
Abstract: A game system in which game sessions involving one or more players may be recorded and saved as game records. A previously recorded game session may be selected and replayed. However, in addition to providing a static replay of the game session, the game system may allow one or more players to step into and assume control of respective game characters at any point during the replay of the game session. When a player steps into and takes control of game a character during the playback, a new timeline is spawned from the original timeline with potentially different outcomes, and a new game record corresponding to the new timeline is generated and stored.

  • Patent number: 9410962
Abstract: The present invention, fitted in the medical-clinical sector, shows a method for monitoring the ingestion of gluten by measuring protein/gluten peptides present in fecal samples with antibodies against immunogenic peptides resistant to gastrointestinal digestion. The presence or absence of said immunogenic peptides is controlled by immunological assays based on reactive antibodies against immunogenic gluten peptides that are resistant to proteolysis. These assays may be quantitative techniques as ELISAs, or qualitative as rapid immunochromatographic assays, immunoblots, etc. These measures may also be applied to verify compliance with the gluten-free diet, to improve diagnosis in cases of refractory or severe symptoms of celiac disease, in cases in which a gluten-free diet is supposedly being respected, or to clinical research on the effectiveness of enzymatic therapies related with prolamin detoxification.

  • Patent number: 9413234
Abstract: A regulator controller including terminals for coupling to a voltage source, an inductor and an output capacitor, and including a switching circuit and a switch control circuit. The switching circuit includes switches that toggle coupling of the inductor during switching cycles based on charge and discharge periods. The switch control sets a duration of the charging period based on the input voltage and sets duration of the discharging period based on a difference between the input and output voltages. Multiple output terminals allow coupling to different load types, in which the output terminals may be temporarily coupled together to handle bursted loads. Thus, an output store capacitor may be coupled to handle a bursted load, and then decoupled for charging. Comparator circuits enable/inhibit switching based on input and output conditions. The regulator controller maximizes utilization of weak power sources while sufficiently handling typical load profiles.
