  • Publication number: 20140011668
Abstract: A method for producing a uranium oxide catalyst body includes the following steps: UO2+x powder, with x?0.7, having a purity of at least 50% is sintered in a first sintering process to obtain a UO2+y intermediate, where y?0.25. Then the UO2+y intermediate is oxidized with oxygen and converted in the process into a U3O8?z powder, with z?1. The U3O8?z powder is pressed to form a blank having a shape that corresponds with the catalyst body to be produced. The blank is sintered in a second sintering process at a temperature of at least 900° C. in an oxygen-containing sintering atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20140010351
Abstract: A system for producing a controllable beam of radiation is controllable electronically, and includes no parts that must move relative to one another while in operation to form the beam. The direction and cross-section of the beam may be controlled electronically by controlling an electron beam. Various embodiments provide an X-ray collimator that allows forming a scanning X-ray beam of desired size and flux independently of the aperture material thickness without requiring movement of the aperture or physical components that create the aperture. Some embodiments provide an X-ray collimator that allows forming a scanning X-ray beam of desired size and flux independently of the beam angle.

  • Publication number: 20140007798
Abstract: Disclosed is an engagement assembly for releasably engaging a rigid member, including a rotating member that releasably engages the rigid member to prevent movement of the rigid member in at least one direction by friction. The rotating member is forced by a biasing element to selectively engage the rigid member, preventing retraction of the leg and inhibiting extension of the leg. A control release interacts with the biasing element, providing a releasable engagement of the rotating member with the rigid member.
