  • Patent number: 8125922
Abstract: After a sample set of web pages (7) has been retrieved via the Internet (4) and stored in a web page data base (11) the web pages (7) are processed by a network analysis engine (15) to generate network data indicative of the interconnections between the sample web pages (7) as identified by hyperlinks included in the retrieved web pages (7). The network analysis engine (15) then utilizes the generated network data to calculate for each web page (7) a number of network metrics indicative of the extent to which the interconnections associated with a web page (7) correspond to patterns of interconnections associated with web pages (7) published in order to manipulate the ranking of a web page (7) by a search engine (3). These network metrics are then used to generate a numbers of ranked indexes of web pages (7). A user can then submit a search query to the search engine (3) together with an indication of which of the rankings should be used.

  • Patent number: 8125202
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protection circuit for protecting a half-bridge circuit. The protection circuit detects an incorrect response of the half-bridge by monitoring the current of a first switch at a series resistor of a second switch. The protection circuit has a detector for detecting the voltage across the resistor and an evaluation circuit which is designed in such a manner that it evaluates an output signal from the detector after the first switch has been switched on and provides a fault signal at an output when the voltage across the resistor is greater than the threshold voltage.

  • Patent number: 8122576
Abstract: The system has special application in the manufacture of aircraft wing covers (10 made of carbon fiber and the stringers (3) cured jointly with the wing cover during the polymerization in autoclave. The tool pieces (4) being used are defined by angular elements (5, 6) copying the geometry of the stringers (3). The shape of these stringers corresponds to the “T” section. The angular elements (5, 6) comprise, in their upper part, a pair of battlements (7) in order to be caught by part of the clamps (9) of a head (10) linked to a robot (11) of the spherical type with articulated arm with six axes. The angular elements (5, 6) are made of INVAR material and they are used to keep in position the stringers during the curing cycle in the autoclave.

  • Patent number: 8123659
Abstract: A method and a motor vehicle applying that method for preventing an uncontrolled rollback of a motor vehicle is suggested, said method comprising means for influencing the torque transmission by a drive train. In case a rollback action is detected, namely a movement in opposite direction as the predetermined direction of movement, the transmission of torque is influenced such that a torque is transmitted via the drive train acting against the rollback direction and the torque does not exceed a defined maximum value. The control allows a controlled rollback by making the intervention by the system to be perceived little disturbing, but at the same time in particular in case of strong incline of the road does not render the driver non-informed about the actual incline.

  • Patent number: 8123703
Abstract: The present invention provides devices, systems, methods and kits for endoscopically accessing a body cavity and providing a directed pathway toward a target tissue within the cavity. The directed pathway is provided by an access sheath which is positioned in a desired configuration, generally directed toward the target tissue. Depending on the location of the target tissue and the desired angle of approach, the access sheath may be required to maintain one or more curves in one or more planes to properly direct the interventional devices. In addition, the access sheath has a locking feature to hold the sheath in place and maintain the desired configuration. Interventional devices may then be passed through the sheath to the target tissue.

  • Patent number: 8125904
Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for an adaptive queue and buffer control based on monitoring and active congestion avoidance in a packet network switch are provided. When memory from a memory source is not available for allocation to one or more adaptive queues in a network device, such as a network switch, the TCP window size associated with the one ore more adaptive queues may be reduced. The window size may be reduced to a target size by utilizing one or more reduction steps, wherein the reduction steps may be programmable. When portions of the memory source become available for allocation to the adaptive queues, the window size may be increased. The window size may be increased to a target size by utilizing one or more increase steps, wherein the increase steps may be programmable.
