  • Publication number: 20110233180
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for welding a joining region of a foil to a connecting part, particularly two foils to a tubular connecting part. Conventional apparatuses are associated with the risk of steep workpiece flanges causing uncontrolled weaknesses in the foil and the weld seam. According to the invention, an extension of the foil outside of the joining region is provided in a controlled manner such that the foil has spare length. In this connection, the invention further relates to the use of a foil, to a method for welding, to a system for producing bag, and to a bag.

  • Publication number: 20100291308
Abstract: A deposition system includes a drum for supporting a web substrate during deposition that defines a plurality of apertures in an outer surface for passing cooling gas. A gas manifold includes an input that is coupled to an output of a gas source and at least one output that is coupled to the plurality of apertures in the outer surface of the drum. The gas manifold provides gas to the plurality of apertures that flows between the outer surface of the drum and the web substrate, thereby increasing heat transfer from the web substrate to the drum. At least one deposition source is positioned so that material deposits on the web substrate.

  • Publication number: 20100135603
Abstract: The invention relates to a bearing shell comprising a first exposed region and a second exposed region, said two exposed regions being formed on the inner surface of the two bearing shell ends. The oil grooves arranged in the two exposed regions are inclined in relation to the central line of the bearing shell, in the direction of flow of the lubricating oil. In this way, the lubricating oil is prevented from escaping in the axial direction in the exposed regions. The invention also relates to a method for producing such bearing shells.

  • Patent number: 7635849
Abstract: The invention relates to a detector for detecting electrically neutral particles. The detector has a housing (10) filled with a counting gas. A converter (22) in the housing (10) generates conversion products as a result of the absorption of the neutral particles. The conversion products generate electrically charged particles in the counting gas, and a readout device (19) detects the electrically charged particles. A device (18) generates an electrical drift field for the electrically charged particles in a region of the volume of the counting gas so that at least some of the electrically charged particles drift toward the readout device (19). The converter device (22) is of charge-transparent design and being arranged in the detector housing (10) so that the drift field passes through at least part of this device.

  • Publication number: 20070185909
Abstract: A method in a computer system for authoring media content for a computer application is provided. The authoring is accomplished by making use of a hierarchical structure including media objects, containers to group objects, and meta-containers to group containers and objects, where the media objects are working copies of provided media files. The hierarchical structure is such that when a property or behaviour is assigned to a container, this property is automatically shared to the objects and container therein. Similarly, the containers and objects included in a meta-container share the properties and behaviours assigned to their parent meta-container. Such a method and system can be implemented as an audio authoring tool for video game where a higher-level additional hierarchical structure is provided on top of a lower-level hierarchical structure to route sound assets organized and characterized through the lower-level hierarchy.

  • Publication number: 20070151842
Abstract: A reactive sputtering system includes a vacuum chamber and a reactive ion source that is positioned inside the vacuum chamber. The reactive ion source generates a reactive ion beam from a reactant gas. A sputtering chamber is positioned in the vacuum chamber. The sputtering chamber includes a sputter source having a sputtering target that generates sputtering flux, walls that contain an inert gas, and a seal that impedes the reactant gas from entering into the sputtering chamber and that impedes inert gas and sputtered material from escaping into the vacuum chamber. A transport mechanism transports a substrate under the reactive ion source and through the sputtering chamber. The substrate is exposed to the reactive ion beam while passing under the reactive ion source and then is exposed to sputtering flux while passing through the sputtering chamber.

  • Publication number: 20070157173
Abstract: The method and system for multi-version digital authoring comprises providing digital media from which media objects are created. Version classes are predetermined, each including version identifiers for identifying respective versions of the media objects. A work copy is then created of each sound object corresponding to each version identifier. A selected modifying value characterizing a selected modifier is associated to a selected media object. The version of the object corresponding to a current version identifier is then modified by the modifying value. The method and system provides means to link and unlink modifiers associated to a selected sound object for a selected version identifier.
