  • Publication number: 20090031327
Abstract: A method for performing real-time analytics using a business rules engine on real time heterogeneous materialized data views is disclosed. The method comprises processing of rows produced by views corresponding to events. The rows are processed according to business rules by a view engine. Views with conditions equivalent to rule conditions are subscribed to by a rule engine, which outputs action messages corresponding to the rule condition. Where the rule condition is satisfied, a statement to that effect is sent, with any available reportlets, to an alert engine. The alert engine handles alert states corresponding to the action statement, saves any corresponding reportlets, and generates a message to fire an alert to a notification engine. The notification engine formats the alert and sends the alert by a selected medium, such as email, a webservice call, or another network protocol.

  • Publication number: 20040121411
Abstract: The present invention provides an isolated, functionally-active protein that catalyzes cleavage of a gamma-secretase substrate. The functional activity of the isolated protein suggests that the isolated protein includes gamma-secretase. In one embodiment, the isolated gamma-secretase protein is associated with PS1. The present invention also relates to homogeneous methods for monitoring cleavage of &bgr;-amyloid precursor protein (&bgr;APP) by gamma-secretase, wherein the steps of of isolating and retrieving cleavage products have been eliminated. Cleavage can be detected by binding a pair of fluorescent adducts to the gamma-cleaved &bgr;APP fragment. Preferably, a first fluorescent adduct binds to the carboxy-terminal end of the gamma-cleaved &bgr;APP fragment, with substantially no cross-reactivity to uncleaved &bgr;APP or to other types of gamma-cleaved &bgr;APP fragments, while a second fluorescent adduct binds to a portion within the amino-terminal region on the gamma-cleaved &bgr;APP fragment.

  • Publication number: 20030048493
Abstract: A high sensitivity monochrome image sensor optically coupled to receive a first sub-beam having a first light intensity produces a plurality of monochrome image pixels representative of an imaged object. A color image sensor optically coupled to receive a second sub-beam having a second light intensity produces a plurality of color image pixels representative of the imaged object. The monochrome sensor has a higher sensitivity than the color sensor. The first light intensity exceeds the second light intensity (i.e., the ratio of the first sub-beam's light intensity to that of the second sub-beam is between about 70:30 and 80:20). Separate control circuits are provided for each sensor, allowing each sensor to be operated selectably independently of the other.
