  • Patent number: 8885442
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining an acoustic property of an environment. According to the method a sound signal and at least two reflection signals of the sound signal (are received, and for each of the reflection signals a time difference between a time of reception of the sound signal and a time of reception of the respective reflection signal is determined. Furthermore, for each of the reflection signals, an angle between a reception direction in which the sound signal was received and a reception direction in which the respective reflection signal was received is determined. Based on the determined time differences, the angles and predetermined constraints defining arrangement constraints of the sound reflecting surfaces an arrangement of the sound-reflecting surfaces is determined.

  • Patent number: 8706162
Abstract: A mobile device receives notification of an incoming call and identifies that an external speaker is connected to the mobile device. The mobile device detects that a user has positioned the mobile device in a position, relative to the user, to use an integrated ear speaker of the mobile device. When the mobile device detects that the user has positioned the mobile device in position to use the integrated ear speaker, the mobile device answers the incoming call and routes audio for the incoming call away from the external speaker and to the integrated ear speaker.

Abstract: A headset device includes binaural wind sensors to receive wind noise. The binaural wind sensors include a left wind sensor and a right wind sensor. The headset device includes a processor to execute instructions to receive wind noise induced by wind at the binaural wind sensors. The processor is also to determine a sound energy density distribution of the wind noise. The processor is to match the sound energy density distribution to one of a plurality of reference sound energy density distributions. Each of the plurality of reference sound energy density distributions includes an associated wind speed and wind direction.
