  • Publication number: 20120197635
Abstract: A method for generating an audio signal of a user is provided. According to the method, a first audio signal inside of an ear of the user and a second audio signal outside of the ear is detected. The first audio signal and the second audio signal comprise at least a voice signal component generated by the user. Depending on the first audio signal the second audio signal is processed and output as the audio signal.

  • Publication number: 20120183161
Abstract: A device may include capturing images of one or more body parts of a user via a camera, determining a three-dimensional model of the one or more body parts based on the captured images, obtaining a head-related transfer function that is generated based on the three-dimensional model, and storing the head-related transfer function in a memory.

  • Publication number: 20120057717
Abstract: Noise-suppressing techniques using a dual-microphone headset include methods in which first and second audio input signals are generated from first and second microphones placed in or near a user's ears, or on each side of the user's throat. These audio input signals are correlated, to produce a correlation signal, and are also combined, to produce an intermediate audio signal. An output audio signal is generated by selectively adjusting the amplitude of the intermediate audio signal, based on the correlation signal, to emphasize correlated components of the first and second audio input signals, relative to uncorrelated components.

  • Publication number: 20120046009
Abstract: The occurrence of an accident is determined with the aid of a motion sensor disposed in an accessory (e.g. headset) of a mobile communication device. The accessory includes a body sensor to detect that the accessory is being worn, and a body movement sensor to detect body movements. An accident is inferred from a violent body movement while the accessory is being worn. In response to the violent body movement, an emergency message is generated and sent to a predetermined destination address.

  • Publication number: 20120020189
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining an acoustic property of an environment. According to the method a sound signal and at least two reflection signals of the sound signal (are received, and for each of the reflection signals a time difference between a time of reception of the sound signal and a time of reception of the respective reflection signal is determined. Furthermore, for each of the reflection signals, an angle between a reception direction in which the sound signal was received and a reception direction in which the respective reflection signal was received is determined. Based on the determined time differences, the angles and predetermined constraints defining arrangement constraints of the sound reflecting surfaces an arrangement of the sound-reflecting surfaces is determined.

  • Publication number: 20110293109
Abstract: A hands-free unit comprises a noise tolerant audio sensor to generate a first audio signal based on detection of audible sounds and an external audio sensor to generate a second audio signal based on detection of the audible sounds. A tunable distortion reduction filter adds high frequency information to the first audio signal and reduces distortion. A control unit detects noise levels based on comparison of first and second audio signals; and selects one of the first and second audio signals based on the detected noise level.

  • Patent number: 6334058
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for power allocation used by a BTS in a mobile telephone system, an available radio power is distributed between a plurality of carriers, a request for a channel for communication (201a,201b,201c) is received. A required amount of power is requested from a power bank (202), and a check if the required amount of power is available (203) is performed. If the power is available it is allocated (204, 205), and the connection is established (206).
