Abstract: Disclosed herein is a floating-point number arithmetic circuit for efficiently supplying data to be performed arithmetic operation. The floating-point number arithmetic circuit includes an floating-point number arithmetic unit for performing a predetermined floating-point number arithmetic operation on a floating-point number of a predetermined precision, and a converting circuit for converting data into the floating-point number of predetermined precision and supplying the floating-point number of the predetermined precision to at least either one of input terminals of the floating-point number arithmetic unit.
Abstract: To provide an information processing apparatus for efficiently managing documents and various procedures relating to a patent application. Information relating to a patent application is accumulated in a database for each case, and managed for due date. When an inventor has to study a case, a request to study the case is issued to the inventor through a network, and the state of the study by the inventor is checked through the network. Furthermore, a case is transferred to request a third party to study the case, and the transfer of document data overseas is managed according to laws and regulations.

Abstract: A transfer molding machine for encapsulation of semiconductor devices with a resin comprises a clamping mechanism with an electrically actuated toggle mechanism, a pair of upper and lower sections of a transfer mold, and at least one compensation unit including upper and lower plates and a plurality of elastic members held between said upper and lower plates. The compensation unit is arranged either between the upper stationary platen and the upper mold section or between the moving platen and the lower mold section to compensate the dimensional errors in the mold sections and clamping mechanism.

Abstract: There are provided processes for the preparation of .gamma.-methacryloxypropylsilane compounds which comprise carrying out the reaction of allyl methacrylate with a hydrosilane compound in the presence of a platinum catalyst, while allowing at least one of a hindered phenol compound and an aromatic amine compound to coexist in the reaction system with an alkylamine compound or an amide compound, or with a gas containing molecular oxygen, or with a phenol compound having an aminoalkylene group. By using these processes as provided, gelation of the reaction mixture in the reaction system and during the course of purification thereof by distillation can effectively be avoided, and the desired .gamma.-methacryloxypropylsilane compounds can be obtained in good yield.

Abstract: In a serial connection of plural sheet sorters, each sorter is capable of checking the state of downstream sorters and, in case an assigned sorter is not in a normal state, the sheets are stored in an immediately preceding sorter. In this manner it is made possible to prevent a situation where the function of the entire sorters is blocked by a single failure. Also sorters of desired number can be connected in series since same control circuits can be used in all sorters.
Abstract: There is disclosed a sorter provided with transporter for transporting sheet members supplied with a first speed at a larger second speed along a transport path and plural bins arranged along the transport path for storing the sheet members transported by the transporter, wherein said second speed is so selected that, when a sheet member is stored in one of the bins, the succeeding sheet member does not arrive at the most upstream bin in the transport path.
Abstract: In a semiconductor laser optical system which uses a light source a semiconductor laser having different diverging points and divergence angles in orthogonal directions and in which the light beam from the light source is imaged on a scanned surface, only a spherical surface optical system is provided between the semiconductor laser and the scanned surface. The spherical surface optical system includes two partial optical systems, i.e. a first image forming optical system and a second image forming optical system as viewed from the light source side. By selecting the optical constant of one of the two image forming optical systems to a predetermined value, the peak power of the image forming spot on the scanned surface is maximized.

Abstract: An optical system for scanning is disclosed which comprises an afocal optical system and a first - and a second deflecting members so disposed respectively at an optically conjugate position relative to the afocal optical system as to substantially interpose the system therebetween. The plane formed by a beam deflected by the first deflecting member is substantially coincident with that formed by a beam deflected by the second one. In order to control the angle of deviation (deflection) of the beam finally scanned, there is provided, for the afocal optical system, means for differentiating the exit angle from the incident angle of a beam passing through the afocal optical system. Furthermore, the angle of deflection of a beam deflected by the first deflecting member in a unit time period is made different from that deflected by the second one.
Abstract: An endless tape cartridge, preferably for use with magnetic recording-reproducing apparatuses, comprises a plurality of loose rollers opposed to one end face of an endless tape coil in the cartridge and disposed radially of the tape coil. Within the cartridge, brake means having its end face for uniform resilient engagement with the end face of the tape coil is cockably or pivotally mounted. The brake means is arranged so that its resilient pressure force imparted to the coil end face may be released from outside the cartridge through openings formed in the cartridge wall.
