  • Patent number: 5378995
Abstract: A low molecular weight organic liquid detection sensor which is a wire body formed by coating a core material with a conductive layer made of a substantially non-crosslinked material having a Shore A hardness not more than 70 which is mainly composed of thermoplastic elastomer and conductive carbon, the conductive layer varying in its electric resistance upon contact with a low molecular weight organic liquid. The sensor of the invention permits secured mechanical strength, its easy installation in a narrow conduit or over a wide area, and highly sensitive sensing of a low molecular weight organic liquid in the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 5242649
Abstract: A hydrated calcium silicate slurry composition is made up of 100 parts by weight of hydrated calcium silicate, 5 to 40 parts by weight of a powdered resin and water and molded articles are produced therefrom. In addition to the above components, 1 to 30 parts by weight of a reinforcing fiber and/or 20 to 35 parts by weight (as solids) of a latex or emulsion may be used. When the latex or emulsion is used, the powdered resin is reduced to an amount of 5 to 20 parts by weight. Since the molded calcium silicate articles have a superior workability and a good thermal dimensional stability, they are very useful especially in the preparation of molds or models where high levels of processing precision and thermal stability are required.

  • Patent number: 4952243
Abstract: A durable structure can be easily and safely demolished by using a demolition-facilitating agent comprising, as an effective principal component 50% to 100% by weight of quick lime particles having an apparent density of 2.0 or more, a weight per unit volume of 1.0 kg/l or more, a particle size of 15 mm or less, and an average particle size of 0.1 mm or more, and optionally, additional solid particles, for example, sand particles, which are inert to water, rigid, porous inorganic grains, for example, hydrated zeolite grains, or a water-absorbing organic material, for example, acrylonitrile-grafted starch in a manner such that the demolition-facilitating agent in the dry state is fed into holes formed in a durable structure to be demolished and then water is fed into the holes to allow the quick lime particles to react with water and thus expand, to demolish the durable structure.

  • Patent number: 4906035
Abstract: A trunk lid of a motor vehicle is closed by engagement of a striker secured to the trunk lid with a latch body of a locking mechanism secured to the trunk of the vehicle. When the trunk lid is closed, the lowering thereof to its closed position is electrically detected by a trunk lid sensor and, in response to it an electrical driving device including an electric motor, is operated to rotate a claw pivotably secured to the latch body so as to move the striker in a guide slot of the claw to a locking position of the latch body. The operation of the electric motor is transmitted to the claw to rotate the same through wire means, link mechanism or gear arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4736723
Abstract: A system and method for deciding the ignition timing at the acceleration of an engine and the steady state. The system has an acceleration ignition timing correction subroutine and a steady state ignition timing correction subroutine. In the acceleration ignition timing subroutine, a basic ignition timing obtained in the steady state ignition timing correction subroutine is corrected by a quantity read from a table so as to sufficiently advance the ignition timing for the acceleration and the steady state.

  • Patent number: 4726339
Abstract: A knock sensor is provided on a selected cylinder which is most liable for engine knocking to occur. The ignition timing is corrected in accordance with the occurence of knock in the selected cylinder. The corrected ignition timing is stored in a table for operating all cylinders of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4715342
Abstract: A first maximum ignition timing table storing a plurality of degrees of ignition timing each producing a maximum engine torque dependent on engine speed with low-octane gasoline without occurring the knock, and a second maximum ignition timing table storing a plurality of degrees of ignition timing each producing a maximum engine torque dependent on engine speed with high-octane gasoline without occurring the knock are provided. A first ignition timing and a second ignition timing are provided from the first and second maximum ignition timing tables in accordance with engine speed, and a correcting quantity having a value within the difference between the first and second ignition timings is obtained. An ignition timing is obtained by using the correcting quantity.

  • Patent number: 4694801
Abstract: A system for quickly converging the ignition timing to a desired timing when a large deviation occurred in the ignition timing. Change of engine operating conditions which will cause such a deviation is detected by a large engine knock to produce a correction signal. In response to the correction signal, an ignition timing correcting quantity is increased so as to quickly correct the ignition timing.

  • Patent number: 4620518
Abstract: A system is provided for quickly converging the ignition timing to a desired timing when a large deviation occurs in ignition timing. The system comprises rough correcting operation for roughly correcting the ignition timing to a desired ignition timing and for producing a completion signal when the correction reaches a complete state, fine correcting operation responsive to the completion signal for finely correcting the ignition timing by a correcting quantity. When the correcting quantity becomes larger than a predetermined value, the rough correcting operation restarts, so that a large deviation of the ignition timing is quickly deviated.
