  • Patent number: 5142620
Abstract: There is an image processing system which inputs and edits image data including document data and prints and displays a document with figures with a beautiful style. This system comprises: an output device which can output the image data including document data; a parameter adding device to add output parameters to edit the image data outputted by the output device; and an edition control unit which can edit, as a headline, at least a part of the image data outputted by the output device on the basis of the parameters added by the parameter adding device. These parameters include data such as position, size, character style, and the like of the headline. With this system, arbitrary information such as headline, catchword, line number, page number, caption, or the like can be extremely easily arranged at any position of the image data displayed on the CRT and the document with such information can be printed as a beautiful style. Also, the document and figure data can be freely edited.

  • Patent number: 5125935
Abstract: The method of the present invention is one for efficiently obtaining a condensed adsorbable gas from a gas containing a low concentration of the adsorbable gas by subjecting the original gas to the process of adsorption and desorption using adsorption columns packed with an adsorbent and then condensing the exhausted desorbed gas containing a higher concentration of the adsorbable gas, in which the adsorption column after adsorption is subjected to desorption after a desorbed gas exhausted from the second adsorption column to be mentioned later is introduced into the adsorption column to make the adsorbable gas contained in the desorbed gas be adsorbed by the column; an exhaust gas exhausted during the condensation of a desorbed gas and containing the noncondensed adsorbable gas is introduced into the second adsorption column to make the adsorbable gas contained in the exhaust gas be adsorbed by the column; and the desorbed gas containing the adsorbable gas and exhausted during the desorption of the second co

  • Patent number: 4518380
Abstract: A paper folding device wherein two wing members are supported for pivotal movement between an open and a closed position, with a gap formed between the two wing members in the closed position. A sheet of paper to be folded is fed into the gap by rollers until the forward edge of the paper hits an adjustable stopper in the gap, so that as the sheet is farther moved by the rollers, a portion of the sheet outside the gap is bent, and the bent portion is nipped and then folded by the rollers. A sound absorber is so arranged adjacent each of the two wing members so as to absorb the sound caused by the forward edge of the sheet of paper striking the stopper inside the gap.

  • Patent number: 4484850
Abstract: A bookbinding machine which comprises a reference plate, an adhesive applicator, a cover applicator and a milling device. The adhesive applicator and the cover applicator are arranged on one side of the reference plate while the milling device is arranged on the opposite side thereof. A clamping device clamps a plurality of piled sheets of paper to be bound into a book standing on its edge surface or back on the reference plate. A selector is provided so as to selectively move the clamping device from above the reference plate in either of the two opposite directions. When the clamping device has been moved to the milling device, a controller causes the clamping device to return from the milling device to the reference plate, where the clamping device temporarily releases the book so as to adjust the level of the back of the book to that of the reference plate and clamps the book again to carry it to the adhesive applicator and then to the cover applicator and finally back to the reference plate.

  • Patent number: 4368880
Abstract: A machine for feeding sheets of paper or the like one after another, wherein until a sheet is nipped between a front feed roller and a friction plate, a sufficiently great pressure is maintained between the roller and the plate so as to prevent simultaneous nipping of two or more piled sheets, and once the sheet is nipped between the roller and the friction plate, the pressure therebetween is reduced so as to prevent the sheet from being wrinkled, ruptured or otherwise damaged while effecting smooth feeding of the sheet.
