  • Patent number: 6614044
Abstract: An image free from aliasing or moiré is obtained when a spatial frequency of a repeated pattern such as a grid pattern is smaller than a spatial frequency required for image information. In one embodiment, digital image data S1 is first obtained by reading a radiation image from a storage-type phosphor sheet storing the radiation image taken using a grid of 4 bars/mm, the reading being performed at sampling intervals of 20 cycles/mm. Image data S1 contains the grid pattern component at 4 cycles/mm, and harmonics components of the grid pattern at 8, 12, 16 and 20 cycles/mm. The harmonics components are removed by filtering processing, and the image data is sampled down to one half to obtain an image data with a Nyquist frequency of 10 cycles/mm. Further filtering processing and sub-sampling processing are performed to obtain an image data with a Nyquist frequency of 5 cycles/mm.

  • Patent number: 6587594
Abstract: Stripe patterns caused by grids having different pitches can be reduced when image data obtained by reading images photographed by using the grids are reproduced. A radiation image is read from a stimulable phosphon sheet on which the radiation image has been recorded by photographing using a grid of 3.4 lines/MM. Filtering processing by filtering means is carried out on digital image data obtained by the reading. The coefficients of a filter used in the filtering processing are −1, −1, 4, −3, −14, 0, 43, 68, 43, 0, −14, −3, 4, 1, −1. This filter is to reduce a response of a spacial frequency equal to or more than 3.3 cycles/mm to equal to or less than 5%, preferably to equal to or less than 2%. In processed image data obtained through filtering processing using such a filter, a response of 3.4 cycle/mm or 4.0 cycle/mm frequency corresponding to the grid of 3.4 lines/mm or 4.

  • Patent number: 6511240
Abstract: A miniaturized rolled-paper holding mechanism is capable of detecting the residual quantity of rolled-paper in both horizontally and vertically installed states of a printer. The rolled-paper holding mechanism includes a rolled-paper holder, a holder cover, a positioning member, and a residual-paper-quantity sensor. The positioning member is structured such that, as the holder cover is opened or closed, the inclination angle of the positioning member is varied with respect to a second-bottom-portion inclined surface formed in the rolled-paper holder. Further, a second positioning groove—which, when the holder cover is closed, can be contacted with rolled-paper R having a given diameter—is formed between the positioning member and the second-bottom-portion inclined surface of the rolled-paper holder.

  • Publication number: 20020158875
Abstract: The explanation of the results of a diagnosis becomes easier to perform while an image is displayed on a monitor. A table recording a variety of diagnostic findings, and image processing parameters corresponding thereto is stored in a storage means. When the diagnostic findings are inputted from an input means, an image processing means obtains, based on the table, the image processing parameter according to the diagnostic results. Then, the image processing means subjects the medical data to image processes, by use of the image processing parameter, to obtain processed image data, which is then displayed as a visible image on the monitor.

  • Publication number: 20020025076
Abstract: When image data are compressed, a degree of image quality degradation can be recognized. At the time of compressing the image data, compression information is added as tag information in a file header of the image data. In this manner, by referring to the compression information, compression history of the compressed image data can be understood, and a degree of image quality degradation of the image data obtained by decompressing the compressed image data can be known.

  • Publication number: 20010026643
Abstract: Output-size information G1 and reference-resolution information G0 are input to a zoom-rate section. The zoom-rate section derives zoom-rates M1 and M2, based on the output-size information G1 and the reference-resolution information G0. A reconstruction section reconstructs an image at the resolution level corresponding to the specified zoom-rate M1. A parameter-setting section derives an image-processing parameter K1 suitable for the resolution level of a reconstructed-image signal S1, based on the zoom-rate M1, reference-resolution information G0, and reference-processing parameter K0, and sets the derived parameter K1 to the image-processing section. The image-processing section obtains a processed-image signal S2 by performing image processing, using the image-processing parameter K1. A zoom-processing section performs a zoom process on the processed-image signal S2, using the zoom rate M2.
