  • Publication number: 20100199301
Abstract: A digital broadcast transmission device generates channel combination information associating a plurality of physical channels. The digital broadcast transmission device divides a bit stream into a plurality of bit streams, the bit stream including program-related information having added thereto channel combination information, and transmits the divided bit streams on the plurality of physical channels, respectively. A digital broadcast reception device selects the plurality of physical channels using a plurality of front ends based on the channel combination information, and demodulates broadcast waves received on the plurality of physical channels, respectively. The digital broadcast reception device combines bit streams obtained from the demodulation, and outputs the combined bit stream.

  • Publication number: 20090096936
Abstract: A receiving device is used that includes a main tuner 11, a sub-tuner 12, and a control unit 13 is used. The main tuner 11 and the sub-tune 12 have local oscillators 25, 45, respectively, for generating local oscillation signals according to frequencies of selected channels, and extract signals on the selected channels by using the local oscillation signals. The control unit 13 judges whether the frequency of the channel selected by the main tuner 11 is identical to the frequency of the channel selected by the sub-tuner 12. When it is judged that they are identical, the control unit 13 stops the generation of the local oscillation signal by the local oscillator 45 of the sub-tuner 12 and causes the sub-tuner 12 to extract the signal on the selected channel by using the local oscillation signal generated by the local oscillator 25 of the main tuner.

  • Publication number: 20050288482
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of sulfoalkyl-containing polymers useful as ion-exchange resins, more particularly a process for the production of sulfoalkyl-containing polymers, characterized by subjecting a polymer having side chains represented by the structural formula (1): [wherein X is a leaving group, and n is an integer of 0 to 6] to replacement of X by acylthio, and then oxidizing the acylthio groups into sulfonic acid groups. According to the process, even the leaving groups (X) contained in the polymer matrix can be nearly quantitatively replaced by sulfonic acid groups, whereby an ion-exchange resin having high ion-exchange capacity can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5777867
Abstract: Herein disclosed are a method and an apparatus for supplying an electrical energy to a pair of discharge electrodes spaced apart from each other to cause an electric discharge in a gap between the discharge electrodes. There are firstly provided an alternating voltage generator for generating, as the electrical energy, an alternating voltage having a frequency, and a capacitor connected to the discharge electrodes in series. The alternating voltage generator has a series resonant frequency. The alternating voltage of the alternating voltage generator is applied to the discharge electrodes through the capacitor. The frequency of the alternating voltage is set approximately to the series resonant frequency of the alternating voltage generator to cause a dielectric breakdown in and allow an electric discharge current to flow through the gap between the discharge electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5361324
Abstract: An analyzer performs spectral analysis of a characteristic parameter of an input speech signal per unit time so as to calculate, as a recognition parameter, orthogonal expansion of a spectrum of the analyzed characteristic parameter. A formant frequency of the input speech signal is detected, and a compensation value is calculated for the recognition parameter using the formant frequency. The recognition parameter is compensated in accordance with variations of the input speech signal caused by a noisy environment using the compensation value. The compensated recognition parameter is compared with reference parameters to output a recognition result.
