  • Publication number: 20060186242
Abstract: A spinning reel includes a reel unit mounted to a fishing rod, and a rotor rotatably mounted to the reel unit on a front side, and guard members. The guard members include plate-shaped embedded portions and protruding portions. The embedded portion of one guard member is embedded in the reel unit from the rod attachment leg to the rear end portion and the lower and portion. The embedded portions of other guard members are embedded in the rotor on an outer portion of a cylindrical portion, and on an outer portion of a second rotor arm. The protruding portions protrude from the outer surface of the reel unit or the rotor. The guard members can come into contact with the ground when the spinning reel is placed thereon, such that scratching on the reel unit or the rotor can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20060016924
Abstract: A drag adjustment device for a dual-bearing reel that adjusts the drag force of a lever drag mechanism includes a drag adjustment lever, an intermediate positioning mechanism and a drag adjustment sounding mechanism. The drag adjustment lever is pivotably attached to the reel unit about a spool shaft between a free position corresponding to a drag free state and a maximum position corresponding to a maximum drag state of the lever drag mechanism. The intermediate positioning mechanism includes a positioning block that is attached to the reel unit at the intermediate position between the free position and the maximum position so as to be able to advance or retreat. The positioning block contacts the drag adjustment lever to position the drag adjustment lever at the intermediate position. The drag adjustment sounding mechanism sounds in response to the pivoting of the drag adjustment lever.

  • Patent number: 6929204
Abstract: A spinning reel rotor includes a cylindrical portion, first and second rotor arms, a bail arm, and a second cover member. The cylindrical portion is mounted rotatably to one end of a reel unit. The first and a second rotor arms extend in a direction away from the reel unit while being curved outward in radial direction from a position in opposition, with respect to the radial direction, to an end of the cylindrical portion on the reel unit side. An aperture is formed in the second rotor arm. The second cover member covers the outside of the second rotor arm and has through holes for adjusting its mass. The through holes expose a portion of the aperture. In this rotor that has a rotor arm provided with an aperture, variations in the rotational balance of cover members due to different degrees of exposure of the aperture are suppressed.
