  • Patent number: 8085317
Abstract: A data generation section generates an essence data file composed of a file header, a file body, and a file footer. A header size obtainment section obtains header size information of essence data file from the data generation section, and supplies the header size information to a clip generation section and an index file update section. The clip generation section generates a clip information file that describes the header size information supplied from the header size obtainment section. The index file update section registers a clip element that describes the header size information supplied from the header size obtainment section to an index file stored in a ROM.

  • Publication number: 20110299077
Abstract: In a spectroscopy module 1, a light passing hole 50 through which a light L1 advancing to a spectroscopic portion 4 passes is formed in a light detecting element 5. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the relative positional relationship between the light passing hole 50 and a light detecting portion 5a of the light detecting element 5 from deviating. Moreover, the light detecting element 5 is bonded to a front plane 2a of a substrate 2 with an optical resin adhesive 63. Thus, it is possible to reduce a stress generated onto the light detecting element 5 due to a thermal expansion difference between the light detecting element 5 and the substrate 2. Additionally, on the light detecting element 5, a first convex portion 101 is formed so as to be located at least between the light detecting portion 5a and the light passing hole 50 when viewed from a direction substantially perpendicular to the front plane 2a.

  • Publication number: 20110164247
Abstract: A spectral module 1 comprises a substrate 2 for transmitting light L1 incident thereon from a front face 2a, a lens unit 3 for transmitting the light L1 incident on the substrate 2, a spectroscopic unit 4 for reflecting and spectrally resolving the light L1 incident on the lens unit 3, and a photodetector 5 for detecting light L2 reflected by the spectroscopic unit 4. The substrate 2 is provided with a recess 19 having a predetermined positional relationship with alignment marks 12a, 12b and the like serving as a reference unit for positioning the photodetector 5, while the lens unit 3 is mated with the recess 19. The spectral module 1 achieves passive alignment between the spectroscopic unit 4 and photodetector 5 when the lens unit 3 is simply mated with the recess 19.

  • Patent number: 7876647
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus and method, a program, and a recording medium that facilitate, for example, identification of information recorded on an recording medium. In a disc formatting process 211, a disc-metadata-file creating unit 181 creates a disc-metadata file including various types of label information, using a PROAV-ID copying unit 192 and a representative-image setting unit 194. Furthermore, in a disc-metadata updating process 212, a disc-metadata-file managing unit 182 updates the disc-metadata file, for example, using the representative-image setting unit 194. A disc-metadata-file recording controller 183 executes a process of comparing PROAV IDs using a PROAV-ID comparing unit 193, and records the disc-metadata file on a disc 132 when the PROAV IDs match. The present invention can be applied to an editing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7697823
Abstract: In a recording control apparatus and method, in recording areas on an optical disk, consecutive empty areas for an ALLOCATION_UNIT are reserved as reserved areas. Multiplexed data in units of packets which can be recorded in the reserved areas is recorded in the reserved areas. A remaining part of the reserved areas in which the multiplexed data in units of packets is not recorded is freed as empty areas. Subsequently, multiplexed data is similarly recorded.

  • Patent number: 7590700
Abstract: The present invention provides an email multicasting device which changes a distribution interval of emails dynamically in accordance with the number of emails to be multicast. The email multicasting device pre-stores on a client basis, mobile numbers of users which are destinations of an email. The email multicasting device, when receiving mail contents from a client, creates plural emails each of which contains the mail contents and one of mobile numbers associated with the client, and queues the emails in a buffer area. The queued emails are distributed sequentially at predetermined time intervals by the email multicasting device.

  • Patent number: 7552299
Abstract: A real-time reproduction determination unit determines whether or not AV data recorded in recording areas on an optical disc can be reproduced in a real-time manner. If the AV data recorded on the optical disc cannot be reproduced in a real-time manner, a compile simulation unit and a compile execution unit respectively select extents from the AV data recorded on the optical disc and relocate the extents to a relocation area.

  • Patent number: 7509030
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating and editing audio and/or video data using thumbnail representations of the data. Thumbnail representations are generated in accordance with clips randomly recorded on a disc, or other storage medium, and edit points are designated for the clips. When thumbnail representations are displayed, the disc is rotated at constant angular velocity (CAV). Video data of the thumbnail representations are read from the disc. When a desired thumbnail representation is selected and designated, the disc drive system is switched from CAV drive mode to constant linear velocity (CLV) drive mode. Video are reproduced from the position of the selected thumbnail representations. Since the thumbnail representations are read in the CAV drive mode that is suitable for randomly accessing the disc, the thumbnail representations can be displayed at high speed.

  • Patent number: 7366399
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a file-time-code (FTC) sort unit and a logical block number (LBN) scheduling unit. The FTC unit sorts data items recorded on an optical disk based on the playback times of the pieces of data. The LBN scheduling unit sorts the data items recorded by the FTC sort unit based on the recording positions of the data items on the optical disk. The LBN scheduling unit also uses the sorting result as the result of scheduling the order of reading the data items from the optical disk.

  • Publication number: 20070274165
Abstract: To improve the convenience of a record medium and allow a reproduction process to be more easily performed than before. When a reproduction process 123 that reproduces material data recorded on a disc 32 is executed, a disc information file management section 63 references a reproduction history of a disc information file held in a disc information file hold section 52 and starts reproducing material data from a position according to the reproduction history. When the reproduction process is completed, the disc information file management section 63 updates the reproduction history of the disc information file held in the disc information file hold section 52. A disc information file record control section 82 records the updated disc information file on the disc 32.

  • Publication number: 20070206920
Abstract: To improve the convenience of a record medium and allow a record process and reproduction process to be more easily performed than before. When a clip edit list update process 121 that updates video data and audio data recorded on a disc 32 is executed, an index file management section 72 manages and updates an index file held in an index file hold section 51 as the video data and audio data are updated. At this point, a search section 92 searches disc internal IDs assigned to clips or edit lists contained in the index file for the maximum value. A disc internal ID generation section 91 generates a disc internal ID according to the maximum value. An index file management section 72 updates the index file with the disc internal ID generated by the disc internal ID generation section 91.

  • Patent number: 7260037
Abstract: A minimum buffer data amount and a minimum reproduction delay time are found from a line approximation graphic form approximating a media read line and used as a basis for determining whether or not data can be reproduced in a real-time manner from a recording medium at a requested reproduction rate. The media read line is a line expressing the change in cumulative amount of data read out from the recording medium. The minimum buffer data amount is the minimum of the amount of data stored in a buffer as data required in reproduction of the data in a real-time manner at the requested reproduction rate. The minimum reproduction delay time is the minimum of a reproduction delay time from the start of an operation to read out the data from the recording medium to the start of an operation to reproduce the data.

  • Patent number: 7221634
Abstract: The rewriting counts in respective areas of a rewritable medium are uniformized. If empty areas are present on the rewritable medium rearward of a recording start position in terms of addresses, then data is recorded in those empty areas. When no empty areas become available rearward of the recording start position, data is then recorded in empty areas forward of the recording start position. The numbers of times that data is recorded in recording areas of the recording medium are thus averaged.
