  • Publication number: 20020058052
Abstract: Described in the present invention are a dispersion which comprises, as a dispersoid, (a) 5 to 40 wt. % of an amphipatic lipid containing, in the molecule thereof, at least one hydroxy and amide group, and (b) 2 to 55 wt. % of a surfactant in an aqueous medium; a washing-away type cosmetic composition comprising the dispersion; and a washing-away type cosmetic composition comprising (A) 0.01 to 10 wt. % of an amphipatic lipid which contains, in the molecule thereof, at least one hydroxy and amide group and having a melting point not less than 30° C. and (B) 5 to 95 wt. % of a surfactant. The dispersion according to the present invention is useful as a component of a washing-away type cosmetic composition having both an emulsion-like or pearl-lustrous appearance and low skin irritation.

  • Publication number: 20010003358
Abstract: Scaly silica particles having a laminated structure, consisting essentially of secondary particles of foliar silica, each formed by a plurality of flaky primary particles of scaly silica which are overlaid one on another and aligned face-to-face in parallel with one another, said secondary particles being present independent of one another.

  • Patent number: 5977722
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for operating a fluorescent discharge lamp of the outer electrode type. As claimed in the invention a switching device is turned on and off by driver signals with a stipulated frequency, by which on the secondary side of a transformer the periodic voltage waveform shown at A in FIG. 1 is produced. This voltage waveform is applied to the fluorescent discharge lamp of the outer electrode type, and thus operation is effected. For the above described periodic voltage waveform, with respect to repetition period t 2 Wo<t, if the width at a voltage of the waveform of 0 V which has a single maximum peak value within one period is labeled WO, its full width at half maximum (the width between a and b in FIG. 1) being set to a stipulated value (for example, to a value of less than or equal to 2.5 .mu.sec). This makes it possible to maintain stable emission even if the pressure of the gas filled in the discharge lamp is increased.

  • Patent number: 5889366
Abstract: The invention relates to a fluorescent lamp of the external electrode type and an irradiation unit using this fluorescent lamp. In a fluorescent lamp of the external electrode type, a glass tube with fluorescent material applied to its inside is hermetically filled with a suitable amount of rare gas, in the axial direction of the outside surface of the glass tube there is at least one pair of electrodes, and on the side which is opposite the aperture for emission of the light to the outside there is reflector material. The electrodes are at least partially translucent, and the reflector material is located in these translucent regions. In this way the electrostatic capacity of the lamp is not significantly reduced even if the electrodes are partially provided with translucent regions. The energy input into the lamp thus has a value which would be obtained essentially even if the translucent regions were absent.

  • Patent number: 5590812
Abstract: A product-delivery device for an automatic vending machine is designed to deliver products stacked and accommodated in a product-accommodating box sequentially from a lowest position according to a sales command. The produce-delivery device is formed of at least one horizontal conveyer installed on a lower side of the product-accommodating box, and a product delivery opening formed at a lower front port of the box. The products are piled on the conveyer. The opening has a size to allow one of the products to pass therethrough. Thus, the products disposed on the conveyer are delivered forward one by one from the box by means of the conveyer according to the sales command. In the product-delivery device, the thickness of a cabinet can be reduced, and the product accommodation efficiency is improved.
