  • Patent number: 11029894
Abstract: An image forming system capable of reducing the processing load of a print server. An information processing apparatus generates execution data for causing an image forming process to be executed. The print server holds the execution data acquired from the apparatus. A plurality of printers execute the image forming process based on the execution data. Print settings are set based on capability information of the printers and are transmitted to the apparatus. The information processing apparatus generates the execution data based on the received print settings. History information indicating one of the plurality of printers, which is used for printing, is managed, and the print settings are set based on capability information of one of the printers, which is selected based on the history information.

  • Patent number: 10956095
Abstract: A server system that causes one of a plurality of printers to print an image received from an information processing apparatus. A virtual printer determines whether or not a printer capable of performing printing to which both of a first print setting and a second print setting are applied is included in the plurality of printers. In a case where it is determined that a printer capable of performing printing to which the first and second print settings are applied is not included in the plurality of printers, information indicating that the first print setting and the second print setting conflicting with each other is stored as prohibited settings information. The print settings are controlled based on the prohibited settings information.

  • Publication number: 20200374409
Abstract: In a case where extension information is included in information regarding presets provided by a printing apparatus, an information processing apparatus prohibits a host side from editing the presets, thereby preventing the occurrence of a conflict between settings of a print job. In a case where extension information is not included in the presets, the information processing apparatus allows the host side to edit the presets, thereby providing a method for changing some of the presets to a user.

  • Patent number: 10120625
Abstract: An image forming apparatus that uses set sheet information and is capable of reducing time and effort in replenishing sheets. At least one sheet feed cassette stores sheets. Sheet information of the sheet feed cassette is set according to specifications of the stored sheets using a setting screen displayed on a console panel. Print processing is performed using sheets corresponding to information on sheets included in a print job. It is determined whether or not the information on sheets corresponds to the sheet information of the sheet feed cassette. A sensor detects operations of opening and closing the sheet feed cassette. Even when an operation of opening the cassette or removal of the same has been detected, if the sheet information of the cassette corresponds to the information on sheets, the console panel does not display the setting screen.
