    Abstract: The variable displacement compressor has a suction-pressure region, a discharge-pressure region and a crank chamber. The compressor includes a supply passage, a bleed passage and a control valve that adjusts cross-sectional area of the bleed passage. The control valve includes a valve chamber, a valve portion and a valve seat member. The valve portion is disposed in the valve chamber for dividing the valve chamber into a bleed chamber, a backpressure chamber and a communication passage. The bleed chamber forms a part of the bleed passage. The backpressure chamber communicates with the supply passage. The communication passage is formed between an outer circumferential surface of the valve portion and an inner circumferential surface of the valve chamber for providing fluid communication between the bleed chamber and the backpressure chamber. The valve seat member is disposed in the bleed chamber and provided separately from a compressor housing forming the valve chamber.

    Abstract: A compressor has suction reed valves each of which includes a fixation portion fixed to the valve base plate, a basal portion that extends from the fixation portion and is separable from the plate, and a valve flap extending from the basal portion toward the distal end to selectively open and close the suction port. Each suction port has a shape elongated in the width direction, which is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction. The width of the basal portion is greater than that of the suction port. Each valve flap includes an opening-closing portion facing the corresponding suction port and stoppers, which project from the ends in the width direction. The side edges in the width direction are continuous from the stoppers to the basal portion to gradually approach the suction port. The cylinder block has pairs of recessed retainers. The stoppers contact the retainers.

    Abstract: A power transmission mechanism that permits power to be transmitted from an external driving source to a rotary shaft of a rotating machine includes a first rotating body, a second rotating body, an armature, and a spring clutch. The spring clutch is wound about an outer circumference of the first rotating body and an outer circumference thereof is surrounded by the extended portion of the second rotating body. The spring clutch has a first end connected to the first rotating body, and the second end is connected to the armature. Supply of current to the electromagnetic coil causes the armature to adhere to the second rotating body. When the armature rotates, the diameter of the spring clutch is increased such that the spring clutch is pressed against the inner circumferential surface of the extended portion and the first rotating body and the second rotating body are coupled to each other.

A valve mechanism that increases an opening ratio of the first passage with respect to the release passage, as a rotational speed of a drive shaft increases, and increases an opening ratio of the second passage with respect to the release passage, as the rotational speed of the drive shaft decreases.

The seat surface has a plurality of protrusions which space the seal surface from the sealing surface when the pressures of the compression chamber and the suction chamber are identical.

The composition has excellent traction performance, lubricating properties and stability.

The low-melting member is disposed in the bleed passage so as to restrict fluid flow therethrough and has a lower melting point than the housing.
