Patent number: 6790065Abstract: In a socket for an electric part, two slide plates 15 and 16 slidably mounted are slid in different directions by applying an urging force for urging an upper operating member 18 downwards, thereby resiliently resilient pieces 5a and 5b of a contact pin 4 in spacing directions to open out contact portions 7. The slide plates 15 and 16 are slid back to their original positions by releasing the urging force to the upper operating member 18, thereby decreasing the resilient deformation of the resilient pieces 5a and 5b in approaching directions to close the contact portions 7 of the contact pin 4. In this manner, the electric part is clamped. Thus, the contact portions can be opened out in equal resiliently deformed amounts by equally pressing the resilient pieces constituting the contact pin.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2001Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: Enplas CorporationInventor: Masami Fukunaga

Patent number: 6371783Abstract: In a socket for an IC package as an electrical part, the IC package is mounted on a mount surface of a top plate mounted on a socket body of the socket. A number of contact pins are arranged to the socket body to be contacted to or separated from solder balls of the IC package. A slide plate is disposed to the socket body so as to be movable with respect to the socket body. Each of the contact pins has a pair of elastic pieces formed at front end portions thereof with a pair of contact portions, each of the paired contact portions of the paired elastic pieces being opened or closed in accordance with the movement of the slide plate so as to clamp the solder balls of the IC package thereby electrically being connected thereto. A pre-load plate is located to press a middle portion of the elastic piece of the contact pin arranged to the socket body so as to elastically deform the middle portion thereof along a direction in that the paired contact portions are close to each other.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1999Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Assignee: Enplas CorporationInventors: Yoshiyuki Ohashi, Masami Fukunaga, Kentaro Mori

Patent number: 6139348Abstract: An IC socket includes a contact pin having a plate-like shape. The IC package has a solder ball, and the side surface of the contact portion is separated from the side surface of the solder ball. The contact portion is thinned at its central portion as compared with the edge portions, and the inclined surfaces contact but are separate from the solder ball. Normal lines of the contact points of both the inclined surfaces are directed to the center of the solder ball. The solder ball is received in the thinned portion thereof. In this way, a location space is narrowed in comparison with a flat plate contact pin. The solder ball is also guided by a pair of inclined surfaces to locate it in the predetermined position, and form a wiping effect.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1998Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Enplas CorporationInventor: Masami Fukunaga
