  • Patent number: 6680719
Abstract: A light emitting display device having a plurality of light emitting elements connected to intersecting points of a plurality of anode lines and cathode lines arranged in a matrix. Either one of the anode lines and the cathode lines are used as scanning lines, and the others are used as driving lines. While one of the scanning lines is scanned during a scanning period, a driving source is synchronously connected to one of the driving lines so that a light emitting element connected to an intersecting point of the one scanning line and the one driving line is caused to emit light. Immediately after the scanning period of the one scanning line is started, a first driving source is connected to the one driving line, and subsequently, in exchange for the first driving source, a second driving source is connected to the one driving line.

  • Publication number: 20030179163
Abstract: A display apparatus is capable of displaying an image at a proper luminance based on an input video signal without being influenced by temperature changes or time-dependent changes. The display apparatus is provided with a monitoring circuit constituted by a monitoring luminescent device, a reference current source of a reference drive current for causing the monitoring luminescent device to emit light at a luminance of K%, a transistor for supplying the reference drive current to the monitoring luminescent device, and a switch for connecting an output end of the reference drive current and a control end of the transistor. An input video signal is corrected to have a level according to the voltage value on the control end of the transistor driving the monitoring luminescent device when the luminance indicated by the video signal is K% of a maximum luminance level.

  • Publication number: 20030122813
Abstract: A display panel driving device and driving method for providing high quality images without irregular luminance even after long-time use. The value of the light-emission drive current flowing when causing each light-emission elements bearing each pixel to independently emit light in succession is measured, then the luminance is corrected for each input pixel data based on the above light-emission drive current values, associated with the pixels corresponding to the input pixel data. According to another aspect, the voltage value of the drive voltage is adjusted in such a manner that one value among each measured light-emission drive current value becomes equal to a predetermined reference current value. According to a further aspect, the current value is measured while an off-set current component corresponding to a leak current of the display panel is added to the current outputted from the drive voltage generator circuit and the resultant current is supplied to each of the pixel portions.
