  • Publication number: 20070154177
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a recording unit operable to record content including video stream and/or audio stream to a recording medium, and a menu recording unit operable to generate control information for displaying a first menu (“Treasure Menu”) and a second menu (“Pleasure Menu”). The first menu allows selection of content from contents which are selected by the user out of contents stored in the recording medium. The second menu is selectively displayed between the first and second menus and allows selection of content from contents which are not selected by the user. The recording unit records the control information to the recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20070132037
Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor device having a recess-structured ohmic electrode, in which the resistance is small and variation in the resistance value caused by manufacturing irregularities is small. In the semiconductor device of the present invention, a two-dimensional electron gas layer is formed on the interface between a channel-forming layer and a Schottky layer by electrons supplied from the Schottky layer. The ohmic electrode comprises a plurality of side faces in ohmic contact with the two-dimensional electron gas layer. At least a part of side faces of the ohmic electrodes are non-parallel to a channel width direction. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the side faces have a saw tooth form or a comb tooth form. Since the contact area between the ohmic electrode and the two-dimensional electron gas layer is increased, ohmic resistance is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070110396
Abstract: A player reads content data from a continuous area on a storage medium and plays back video and/or audio based on the content data. The continuous area includes a data area, in which the content data is stored, and a non-content-data area, in which the content data is not stored. The player includes: a reading control section for giving an instruction to read the content data of a predefined size from the data area and an instruction to start to play back the video and/or the audio based on the content data that has been read out; a head for reading the content data from the data area in accordance with the instruction to read; and a buffer memory for accumulating the content data that has been read. The reading control section determines the predefined size by the amount of time it takes to skip the non-data area, reads the content data of the predefined size, accumulates the data in the buffer memory, and then gives an instruction to start to play back the content.

  • Publication number: 20060245729
Abstract: A data processor records an audio frame corresponding to an audio gap interval at a connection point, as well as the audio playback control information, in a post recording area. The audio is reproduced so as to include the audio frame at the connection point. The audio is also reproduced while being faded in and faded out in accordance with the audio playback control information. As a result, when an MPEG program stream stored on a disk is played back by making a play list with the connection point re-encoded, seamless playback is guaranteed without discontinuing the audio at all.

  • Patent number: 7035394
Abstract: A tone transmission part transmits a tone signal. A tone signal detection part detects data representing an echo signal of the tone signal transmitted by the tone transmission part, and detects data representing a predetermined tone signal targeted to be detected. The tone signal detection part also detects data representing tone signals of all of input signals. A tone judgment part excludes the data representing the echo signal from the data representing the tone signals of all of the input signals so as to judge a detection of the predetermined tone signal.

  • Publication number: 20060077775
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes an encoder and a processor. The encoder generates reproduction units each including I/B/P picture data, and information indicating reproduction time to reproduce each of the pictures to generate a data stream. The processor generates, in accordance with the type of the recording medium, one of basic picture information and reproduction unit information, and time length information. Such information is stored in one or more tables of the respective units as management information. The basic picture information defines a correspondence between a reproduction time to reproduce the first I picture which is recorded at the top of the each unit, and a recording position of the I picture. The reproduction unit information defines a correspondence between a reproduction time length of each unit and a recording position of the I picture. The time length information relates to the reproduction time length on pictures in each unit.
