  • Patent number: 6607685
Abstract: A pierceable stopper for a liquid container, which has a pierceable part made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin elastic material. The pierceable part is formed so as to prevent leakage of liquid from the container when it is pierced with a hollow needle. The pierceable part is confined in a compressed state in the stopper body of the pierceable stopper. A molten thermoplastic synthetic resin elastic material is injected into an injection mold at an injection pressure higher than the normal injection pressure to mold the pierceable part.

  • Patent number: 6571457
Abstract: A control panel for electronic equipment that satisfies the requirements of hermeticity, clearness of indication and operability and yet allows a cost reduction. A sheet made of a commercially available light-transmitting thermoplastic synthetic resin material is used as a substrate. Sheet recesses are formed on the sheet so that each print layer formed on the surface of the sheet is located on the inner side of the bottom of a sheet recess. The sheet recesses are filled with a synthetic resin material to form pushbuttons. A contact surface of a case cover and a contact surface of a pushbutton outer skin are kept in close contact with each other during injection molding. Therefore, there is no possibility of the resin material flowing between the contact surfaces. It is unnecessary to insert a mold member into the clearance between each pushbutton and the associated opening in the case cover. Because the clearance can be minimized, it becomes easy to achieve a size reduction and so forth.

  • Patent number: 6180896
Abstract: A control panel having a sheet-formed pushbutton unit that satisfies the requirements of hermeticity, clearness of indication and operability and yet allows a cost reduction. A single-cut sheet made of a commercially available light-transmitting thermoplastic synthetic resin material is used as a substrate. Sheet recesses are formed on the single-cut sheet so that each print layer formed on the surface of the single-cut sheet is located on the inner side of the bottom of a sheet recess to prepare a formed sheet. The sheet recesses are filled with a synthetic resin material to produce a key sheet having pushbuttons. The key sheet is thermowelded to the rear side of a case cover by ultrasonic vibrational energy to form an integral unit.

  • Patent number: 5795525
Abstract: A method for assembling a control panel makes the quality of thin surface forming bodies constant, the bodies resiliently supporting buttons of the control panel body. The control panel body (previously formed) is inserted into a pair of mold plates. The mold plates form cavities in conjunction with the control panel body. The cavities are independent of from one another and are symmetrical with respect to an axis normal to the surface of the control panel. Melted elastomer is injected flows into the cavities and expands in the cavities. Such melted material and the melted hard materials of the control panel are co-melted and, when cooled, make a solid solution.

  • Patent number: 5695699
Abstract: A primary molding material is injected into a primary cavity with a predetermined volume formed by mold elements for primary injection molding which are movable relative to each other, and the mold elements are moved away from each other to increase the volume of the primary cavity by a predetermined amount. In this state, the primary molding material is foamed to form a primary molded part. Then, one of the mold elements for primary injection molding is replaced by a secondary injection mold element including a movable mold element, and a secondary molding material is injected into a secondary cavity formed by the primary molded part, the secondary injection mold element, and the movable mold element for secondary injection molding.

  • Patent number: 5547621
Abstract: A foam injection molding method which makes it possible to control physical properties of high-expansion ratio molded parts with a high degree of freedom of interfacial configuration. With a molding material charged in a closed initial cavity (8) formed by three mold elements (1, 2 and 3), an intermediate cavity having a smaller volumetric capacity than that of the initial cavity (8) and an intermediate cavity having a larger volumetric capacity than that of a final cavity (9) are formed by moving at least one mold element (3) relative to the other two mold elements (1 and 2) without moving these mold elements (1 and 2) while keeping the cavity closed, which is formed by the three mold elements (1, 2 and 3).

  • Patent number: 5520971
Abstract: An air bag cover having an opening portion that has a tear line at which the opening portion is torn by a predetermined pressure, and a mounting portion that has a mounting hole for insertion of a fastener for attaching the cover to another member. The opening portion is made of a thermoplastic elastomer, while the mounting portion is made of a rigid thermoplastic synthetic resin material. The opening portion and the mounting portion are integrally welded together under high pressure. The air bag cover is produced by a method comprising the first step of injecting the thermoplastic elastomer through a first gate into a first cavity for forming the opening portion, and the second step of injecting the thermoplastic synthetic resin material through a second gate into a second cavity communicated with the first cavity for forming the mounting portion. In the first step, the opening portion is formed with the second cavity closed.
