  • Patent number: 5894247
Abstract: An optical PLL circuit with high precision that has its simplified configuration. An optical-intensity modulator creates difference frequency information (N.times..DELTA.f) by modulating a received optical signal formed of signal optical pulses of a repetitive frequency (N.times.f0) with a reference signal of a frequency (f0+.DELTA.f) and implementing an AND operation of them. The signal is converted into an electric signal by a photo diode. A band-pass filter extracts only the low frequency component (N.times..DELTA.f). A frequency divider produces a frequency component .DELTA.f by dividing the extracted component by N. A multiplier receives the reference signal and the output signal f of a voltage-controlled oscillator and then creates the difference frequency component ((f0+.DELTA.f)-f). A phase comparator compares the low frequency component .DELTA.f with the difference frequency component ((f0+.DELTA.f)-f) and controls the voltage-controlled oscillator to set the phase difference between them to zero.

  • Patent number: 5867188
Abstract: The ink jet printer is provided which eliminates play between a carriage supporting an ink jet head and a guide shaft, allows the ink jet head to be releasably attached to the carriage, and provides reliable electrical connection between the ink jet head and the carriage with a reduced number of parts. An embodiment of the ink jet printer of the invention includes a guide shaft extending in a direction orthogonal to a direction in which paper is forwarded. A carriage is slidably mounted on the shaft, moving in reciprocal directions while being guided by the guide shaft. An ink jet head, releasably attached to the carriage, prints ink dots on the paper for forming a printed image by jetting ink out of nozzles. A first electrically connecting portion is arranged on the carriage. A second electrically connecting portion is arranged on the ink jet head so as to come in pressure contact with the first electrically connecting portion.

  • Patent number: 5825417
Abstract: An automatic exposure control device of a video camera for recording and tie-recording with proper exposure level including an iris mechanism having a two-fin type iris rotated by a ring portion of which the rotational speed is in proportion to an iris control value while an electric battery is switched on and a photograph button is pushed. Recording is actually started after a predetermined period is passed following the pushing of the photograph button. A photometric integrating circuit outputs an iris integrating value from a brightness element of a photograph signal. A microcomputer determines the iris control value from the iris integrating value. During the predetermined period after the pushing of the photograph button, the iris control value is increased and output for every field in order to control the iris with high speed.

  • Patent number: 5752098
Abstract: A zoom optical system (25) is associated with an image sensor (46), which is disposed behind the zoom optical system for picking up an object (6). The zoom optical system is focussed by use of a photoelectric signal from the image sensor. In a setup mode, the zoom optical system is zoomed from a first magnification to a preset magnification. The zoom optical system has been set at the first magnification. The preset magnification is adapted to focussing. The zoom optical system is focussed in accordance with the photoelectric signal generated while the zoom optical system has the preset magnification. The zoom optical system is zoomed back from the preset magnification to the first magnification, while keeping the zoom optical system in-focus. The zoom optical system becomes in-focus at the first magnification in a manner in which the zoom optical system is in-focus at the preset magnification.
