  • Patent number: 6128565
Abstract: In a disengagement side control, in a power on state, a disengagement side pressure P.sub.W is output, P.sub.W being set higher than a base pressure dependent on input torque, and a disengagement side frictional engagement element is engaged and maintained. In a power off state, a disengagement side pressure lower than the base pressure is output, and the disengagement side frictional engagement element slips. In the disengagement side control, when the vehicle driving state is changed from the power off state to the power on state, the disengagement side pressure P.sub.W is changed from that for a slip state to that for a maintain state.

  • Patent number: 6102830
Abstract: When a shift to a second gear ratio (second ratio) is determined during a shift control for a first shift (shift from fourth ratio to third ratio), the process status, or circumstances, of the first shift is determined using a hydraulic pressure for a fourth brake being engaged at the determination. When the process status, that is, the process circumstances, is in early phase, the first shift is interrupted and shift control for the direct shift to the second ratio (shift from fourth ratio to second ratio) is performed (first shift pattern). When the process status is in a late phase, the first shift control is continued, and after ending of the first shift control, the control for the shift to the second gear ratio (shift from third ratio to second ratio) is performed (second shift pattern). In the case of power off state, the second shift pattern is performed irrespective of the process status.

Abstract: The electromagnetic relay is provide with a spring fixing part which fixes a signal contact spring, an earth contact spring and a spring connection portion to a board, and an armature made of a magnetic member and arranged to be rockable with a position matching with the spring fixing part. The armature is provided with a first end portion which presses the signal contact spring against signal fixed contacts and a second end portion which presses the earth contact spring against an earth fixed contact. The armature and each of the movable portions are arranged such that torques acting on the armature cancel one another by a repulsion of each of the contact springs when the signal contact spring and the earth contact spring are pressed against the board.

  • Patent number: 6068576
Abstract: When a vehicle driving state of an automatic transmission is changed to a power-off state from a power-on state during a down shift involving the disengagement of one friction element and the engagement of another friction element, a disengagement side pressure PA is reduced rapidly by a feedback control based on the change in gear ratio because of a reduction of an input torque. The disengagement side pressure control is unable to complete change of the gear ratio to complete the down shift. When the disengagement side pressure is reduced to a value less than a return spring load pressure PG or when the gear ratio change has not achieved a basic value in a predetermined time, the down shift control is changed from primary control by the disengagement side pressure control to primary control by an engagement side control so that the gear ratio change is completed by control of the engagement side pressure.

  • Patent number: 5954776
Abstract: A hydraulic control unit of an automatic transmission calculates deceleration during a coasting downshift, and calculates a piston play offsetting time, that is, the lag time that elapses between a shift decision and the start of the shift, on the basis of a correction value determined in accordance with the lag time learned from the previous shift. Based on the rate of deceleration and the piston play offsetting time, the downshift line in the speed shift map is corrected, that is, advanced in timing. Using this timing-advanced shift line, the control unit makes an earlier shift decision such that the shift starts in a proper state of operation, thus reducing shift shock during a coasting downshift and preventing excessive engine speed during a high-speed upshift.

  • Patent number: 5907349
Abstract: A fluorescent printer head capable of being subject to dynamic driving to reduce the number of ICs required. A shield electrode is provided between anode arrays having anode dots arranged in an offset manner and control electrodes are respectively arranged for the anode arrays. The anode arrays are subject to dynamic driving and selected by the control electrodes. Such construction of the fluorescent printer head ensures smooth selection of the anode arrays during the dynamic driving. Also, it eliminates non-uniformity in luminance of the anode dots of the anode arrays and accomplishes downsizing of the printer head and a reduction in manufacturing cost thereof due to a reduction in the number of ICs required.

  • Patent number: 5789821
Abstract: A starter which reduces the number of parts for a pinion rotation regulation and provides an accurate magnet switch operation. A concave portion is formed on the bottom side of a plunger to store a spherical body set on the rear end of a cord-shaped member, e.g., wire. A male screw and a fixing are used so that the length of the cord-shaped member is adjusted thereby. The length of the string-shaped member is adjusted so that the claw of the pinion rotation regulating member fits into the notch on the outer circumference of a pinion gear. Furthermore, the claw is fit into the notch via the wire when the plunger moves. The cord-shaped member may be replaced by a rod member disposed radially inside or outside the yoke.

  • Patent number: 5426446
Abstract: LED pairs each consisting of two LEDs are arranged in a matrix form to constitute a LED module. Receiving an external clock signal, a timing control circuit generates common signals that set on-periods of drive currents for the LEDs. Each display drive circuit includes first and second drive elements. The first drive element commonly serves the two LEDs of the LED pair, and is turned on during the on-period set by the common signal. The second drive element has two transistors that separately serve the two LEDs of the LED pair and are turned on in accordance with respective color selection signals. The display drive circuits selectively provide drive currents to the LEDs through the first and second drive elements being turned on. When detecting a stop of the clock signal, a common signal control circuit cut off the first drive elements by canceling the common signals.
