  • Patent number: 5045912
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a Bi-CMOS integrated circuit device including NPN and PNP bipolar transistors and N-channel and P-channel MOS transistor. The PNP transistor is formed in an epitaxial layer formed on a semiconductor substrate and has a collector region selectively formed in the epitaxial layer, a base region formed to straddle respective portions of the collector region and the epitaxial region and an emitter region selectively formed in the base region.

  • Patent number: 4814975
Abstract: In a virtual machine system having a bare machine including an execution control unit, a storage control unit and a main storage unit and having a hardware architecture of its own, for supporting at least one virtual machine which runs on the bare machine and has a different hardware architecture than the bare machine, microinstructions for executing the instructions of the virtual machine are stored in storage means, and, in dispatching, the microinstructions in the microprogram associated with the virtual machine selected to be run on the bare machine are sequentially fetched from the storage means and executed by the execution control unit.

  • Patent number: 4809163
Abstract: A computer system as a processor which operates under control of an operating system stored in memory to execute programs in response to commands received from operator terminals. Power is supplied to the processor from a power control circuit, and a terminal status-monitoring circuit operating under its own power supply monitors the operational status of the operator terminals and causes power to be supplied to the processor from the power control circuit when any one of the operator terminals has been turned on. When all of the operator terminals have been turned off, a command is sent to the processor from the power control circuit to initiate termination processing after which power supply is removed from the processor.

  • Patent number: 4649480
Abstract: An argument which is a set consisting a global variable in a procedure to be called, a designation symbol representing localization and a variable or constant on a procedure call side is designated as an argument of a procedure call statement of a program, the global variable in the called procedure is localized in the procedure in response to the designated information, and the value of the variable on the procedure call side which is a member of the set is used as the initial value of the local variable. An argument which is a set consisting of a local variable in a procedure to be called, a designation symbol representing globalization and a variable on a procedure call side is designated as an argument of a procedure call statement of a call program, the local variable in the called procedure is globalized in response to the designation information, and a data area which is the same as that of the variable on the procedure call side, which is a member of the set, is used.

  • Patent number: 4646235
Abstract: A computer system network with host machines and local machines linked hierachically with each other, wherein if file I/O status flag in control table of a local machine is set to terminal operation replacement mode by command input by terminal user, a data I/O request issued by an application program in a host machine to a terminal connected to the local machine is implemented by the I/O operation on the file connected to the local machine in place of the I/O operation on the terminal.

  • Patent number: 4550386
Abstract: A terminal controller for allowing concurrent operations of a plurality of application programs, each said application program using an input/output data stream including an address information for enabling to display data on the overall screen of a terminal enables the outputs from application programs which operate concurrently to be displayed on the split screen of a single terminal linked with said terminal controller. An address conversion is carried out in the terminal controller on at least a portion of the address information in an input data stream input from a terminal and on at least a portion of the address information in an output data stream output from an application program.
