    Abstract: In a television pickup tube, a target comprises a photo-conductive material such as antimony trisulfide, amorphous selenium or the like arranged on a transparent zinc oxide layer which is formed adjacent to a transparent electrode on a transparent faceplate or substrate. The transparent electrode may be etched so as to form a pair of electrodes each connected to a signal deriving terminal in the case where the target structure is for a color television pickup tube.
